Title: Question on FXR3 Turn Signals
Post by: Winston Wolf on September 16, 2020, 03:35:09 PM
I'm wondering if someone can help me out on rear turn signals for my FXR3.  The original owner had replaced them years ago with bullet signals, after one of the rears broke off.  I'm trying to put it back to stock with the correct signals.  I procured NOS dual filament fronts, just need the rears.  Is the housing the same between the front and rear?  I know the wires go through a stud, but is the body itself the same, just with a rubber plug or something for where the wires come out in the front signal?  The parts book shows them looking the same, but it's just a drawing.  I see Chris Products repops them in the single filament, but they also appear to come out the housing through a grommet and not through the mounting stud.

Thanks in advance.

68499-95 in the rear with single filament bulb socket.  68395-95 in the front with dual filament bulb socket.

The bodies themselves are interchangeable.  Riveted to those bodies are the different bulb sockets though.  Those are different front and rear.  So if you're willing/able to drill out the rivets and swap bulb sockets you can swap the housings front and rear.  It's not a big deal.  But, yes, there is that difference.

What goes in the hole in the rear blinker, where the wires come out in the front?

Nothing extra.  Same grommet front and rear.
