Welcome the new guy from New Jersey!
« on: April 25, 2007, 08:30:45 PM »

Hey all,
LTBawb, who has known about this site since I joined 2 years ago, finally made the plunge and bought a CVO and joined our elite group :2vrolijk_21:

Bob and I picked up a 12K mile Teal SEEG yesterday, an almost uneventful, nearly 600 mile round trip to R.I. The almost part is what prompted him to finally join the group here.

Somewhere along the way, and I would have to guess it was along the awful roads (I-95) coming from Connecticut into and through New York,
the bike must of taken a pretty good jolt and I'm guessing bounced into the plate the covers the gap between the trailer and the ramp.

Hence his post under this thread http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=12988.0

Anyway, please welcome my work partner, riding companion, diving buddy, boat buddy and all around best friend to the group. :huepfenjump3: :drink:

Bob, Welcome from TN!

I saw a blue jester lined up in the parade lap at Barber last weekend.  The owner's name was Andy or Andrew and he was from Coldwater, MS, but I can't remember his site name.  He had trimmed out the bottom of his rear fender with a piece, but I can't recall what bike he said that it was from.  It seems that it was a piece typically from something other than an Electra Glide.  Maybe he'll see this post and report on the item.

A Great Big CVO Welcome to you Bob.  With an introduction like that, we know you must be one heck of a great buddy and we are happy to get ya on the site.  Re the cover, I think it was Mobe from Joplin who posted some very nice pics of the fender cover from a Deluxe.  Looks real good.  He just had to snap off the little nipples from the back and then applied 3m 2 side tape.  Covers up an small imperfections.

Hello again, & Thank you for the great welcome, I always figure you get what you give, and Duane is about as close as family as you get with out the DNA test, lol, I am however getting type-rs cramp, catching up with the many nice welcomes and great replies to my drama...lol  I'm switching back and forth finding welcomes and suggestions all over the place..I guess I'll get the hang of it soon though and rid myself of the newbie thing soon.
As for your replies to my "chip", Thanks I do believe that Duane was right, you guys are the best of the best, and excel in going out of your way to be creative and most importantly helpful, so this journey begins with big shoes to fill in returning the kindness, i will try!!

Hi Roger,

I did make the offer, I'd trailer my bike up and we could ride around up there or even "ride" home.
But in retrospect, I think the damage was less then it would be if we had to make the ride with the girls following in the truck and trailer  :o

Hey all,
LTBawb, who has known about this site since I joined 2 years ago, finally made the plunge and bought a CVO and joined our elite group :2vrolijk_21:
