Put this on yesterday in between meals.

There may be another thread that addresses this so merge them if there is.

Harley LED Taillight, part # 68085-08 w/red lens and chrome housing.

Here's a few pics.

I bought it when the Harley shop was having sales.
Including tax it was $108.00.
So excluding tax and my discount it must have been around $129.00 to $139.00.
Or something like that.
You could probably look it up on line!

The new lights look great!  And you have the best color SEUC too!  ::)

I noticed you have the saddlebag lid lights. Were you able to get the color match from H-D or did you have to paint them yourself?  I like the look.

Cheers!

FYI, you have great taste in bikes!
I ordered the spoilers from Harley painted to match the day the bike came in.
Took only two weeks to get them.

But, for what it's worth, the painter I used on my trailer has a perfect color match for the 09 silver.

We need to have a 09 SEUC silver and blue GTG!

I also put the HD taillight on my 06' FLHTCUSE along with Kuryakyn LED signal lights with a run-turn-brake converter. I have enclosed a couple of pictures.

Here's a few pics.
Between meals ;-) That's the way to do a proper workout ;-)
Had the same on my '08 and have them on order for my '09. Great choice.

Ride safely,

The new taillight has more light surface area and to me is much brighter than the standard light.

Big difference!

Chip, looks great.  Does the luggage rack on top of the tour pack have a light bar as well?  I know one is available, but didn't know if it came stock on the 09 SEUC.

Yes mine does have a light.

Somewhat useless though.

No sir it does not come stock.

And it's only 40 bucks.

Is that dumb or what?

Chip,

Looking at this light, I notice that the sides are chrome vs. clear, red, plastic like the stock one, this would seem to allow less light from the side. What have you seen with this?

Very good question Bill.
I took a few pictures for comparison shots.

Here is a side shot no brake light, just regular lights.

Now here is with brakes on!

To answer your question there is maybe an 1/8 inch ring of light that shows from the taillight on the side of it.
But the real answer to your question is that from the side the lights on the tour pak are always on and even brighter when the brakes are on.

The look of the chrome is sweet!! I do like the light, I guess the lights on the tour pak provide enough light from the side, in the end, the tail is where we want the most light, looks like I'll be dropping another hundo!!!  :2vrolijk_21:

Then we went to the SERG and the SEEG with the regular lights and tried the same.

On those bikes from the side there is a approx 1/4 band of light to be seen from the side.

So 1/4 of light view on the standard lens and an 1/8 of light view on the chrome housing taillight.

The running lights and wrap around lights on the tour pak make all the difference from the side view.

Does that help?

But that was a good question Bill!

Here is a picture of the "chrome thing" sitting in the floor in the earlier pictures!
To answer the what is it question, it's a bike stand.
Was out putting miles on the bike and trailer and stopped at a shop.
It was dirty, it was nasty, I scarfed it up for a song and it fit in the trailer.
So here is the cleaner version.

Nancy wanted one for hers.

So she got one.

But I bought the wrong one.

I got the one with the clear window up.

It's like HELLO, her tag is below the light not above, I needed the solid style taillight.

So now I have three LED taillights.

So I was going to install the third taillight on the SERG.
But that required some reworking since 01 SERG's have the LED lights in the light bar.
So I put the third taiillight on the 03 Classic.
Easy enough, but then the SERG was the "lone stranger" with no LED taillight.

So the answer was clear.

Make the SERG happy.

Marty, 110mofo sent me his taillight that had the light window up.

He did the detachable T/P so he now needs a taillight with no window.

Thanks Marty!

The SERG is happy.

All is well.

Thanks d00dster!

And thanks again Marty.

The garage is complete. (well for today anyway)

Note; there is no dragon on the 09. (that is a temporary problem to be fixed soon)

Also note; Direction of the Dragon is important! They must face the correct direction!
