Don't think he is closing down but moving out west to Arizona from what I hear.

Well that's good news in that he's not closing up and also that he'll be closer to us on the left coast. I wonder if he plans to sell 150 of his less rare bikes and replace them with rarer ones. I seem to remember hearing that we have a couple site members who know Dale personally. Keep us informed

Thanks

You don't know what he's selling or why. I seriously doubt a collector as brilliant as Dale Walksley will let go of any bikes that he doesn't have a better one of.

Jus my $0.02

Understand that if he reopens there's a good chance it will be in Arizona but it's not a sure thing on either one.

wow, work for sends you to Knoxville for two weeks, then isolate you from the rest of the world by not giving you internet or the time to search it out then on the day that you just so happen to find one of the most magnificent gems in American history, you guys start talking about it....

I was just out there today, from what I understand he is moving locations.....

it is unlike any other collection that I have seen, he truely believes in leaving the machine as if it were ridden ever day....(or raced), and really is there any other way... I love the looks of a polished up bike but would rather see a bike that is loved by the signs of daily wear and tear....

You also get the southern hospitality treatmeant, ask a question and you shall receive the story behind the beast. right down to throw a leg over it see how it feels... an amazing place....

I had heard it was a move to an undetermined location several months ago however matters may have changed?

Been looking for a servicar and was told to contact him for information on his sale.

He is moving to Arizona

Auctioning off about 150 bikes.....all his bikes run

There has been an ongoing difference of opinions between the museum and the town/people. Has much to do about the move which is a shame. Seems like the town/people don't know what  a good thing they have.

That's a shame...I thought he was moving the bikes due to property and tax issues.

They will when there motels, restaurants are not as full as they were, and when all the other shops tourist (bikers) frequent business slows down then it will be to late. I know there are a lot of other things in the area to see/do, but I'm sure there are some that visit MV just to see that museum.

That's the same week as MV GTG. Hmmm, I wonder, out of those attending the GTG, who is gonna end up buying one of those bikes! :)
