The last CVO I bought cake with a crystal key, cover, saddle bag liner bags etc.
What should I expect with the 2018 CVO Limited I have on order?
-
according to the owners manual:
-
The Garage Door Opener has a *. Which means "not provided in all markets". Is that only foreign markets? I really would like an included opener....
-
The garage door opener is standard on the domestic models, but not on some HDI (export) models due to different regulations. I think you'll find that everything on the list comes on domestic models, even the single starred items.

That's funny right there. What on that list does not come with the non-CVO items?
Also, the 2018's come with an oil pump that may or may not require replacement soon; lifters that may or may not fail soon; a warranty that is rendered useless with the most common items one changes on their Harley; a whopping 90HP and 109TQ; fairly ugly paint; $44,000 pricetag +/-.
I know I'm a cynical bastard, but I've earned it over the years pouring money into my CVO.
-
Right on Greg....And we still buy them..
-
Feel bad that some have had such poor experiences. This will be my 5th Harley (3rd CVO) in 18 years. Have never regretted owning any of them nor had any major issue that wasn’t resolved by the dealer or MoCo.
That all said, I’m in Ontario Canada so mine will be an international bike. There’s another member... Hotmetal from Montreal, who just got one. Be curious to hear from him.
Love to know how to get that list posted by skratch as well!

Will need a Vin # for this link to work: http://www.harley-davidson.com/content/h-d/en_US/home/owners/maintain-your-bike/owners-manual.html (http://www.harley-davidson.com/content/h-d/en_US/home/owners/maintain-your-bike/owners-manual.html)

I see. I wont see a VIN according to the dealer until it ships so there's that.
-
no, you don't need a vin number. go to this link: https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson.com/sip/index from there, register as an 'independent operator'. there's no charge for it. after you've done that, you can sign in and look up owner's manuals, parts, wiring diagrams, etc. there will be a link for other stuff, but it'll tell you that you need a subscription to access that, and if you are in the us, you aren't able to get the sub. but there is still plenty of 'free' info available. if you sign on and only get a screen to input vin, go to the top right and click 'home', there it will give you the option to input vin, or year/make/model.

Thank you. Good info. Worked like a charm!

I just put a deposit down on a Black Earth Fade.. it won’t be here until May. Seems there’s a lot of angst over theses new CVOs. I think they’re great. This will be my 3rd CVO and 4th Harley all together. I love each one I have. They all have different purposes and attitudes. I take good care of them and can’t wait to add another one to the stable. This will be my first full dress bagger. Didn’t think I was old enough yet, but my girl wants the back and arm rests. I really like the blacked out design. Seems like Harley hit all tastes in this one. If you want one chromed get the anniversary, if you want a little chrome get the red, if you want it murdered out get the black. It’s great

Can we expand on this list? The "goodies list" in the owner's manual hits what I call the CVO swag. But there is also a lot of functional upgrades over the standard production models. I'm leaving off the items you get with standard models (e.g., BOOM and owner's manual).
Here's what I have come up with so far for 2018+ Limited. Please add...
- 2x remote locking CVO fobs
- SE 117” engine, 10.2:1 compression, 125 ftlb tq, HP…
- Upgraded suspension – dual bending front and emulsion rear with hand-adjustable preload
- Tire pressure sensors
- Reflex linked Brembo brakes with ABS
- Color-matched split-stream air vent
- Color-matched inner fairing
- CVO paint and badging
- Heavy Duty charging system
- LED lights, all
- Airflow themed pegs, boards, grips
- Heated grips
- Heated seat
- Rider backrest
- 6.5 BOOM! With Stage I audio, 75W/channel x4
- CB (bike to bike)
- WHIM installed (2018+)
- 2x HD branded Sena 20s headsets
- Integrated garage door open
- Sirius/XM radio
- Power locking fork lock, tour-pak and saddlebags
- Security with siren
- Tour-pak and saddlebag liners
- Tour-pak and saddlebag luggage
- CVO bike cover
- SE air cleaner
- Rain sock for air cleaner
- Highway peg kit
- 12V accessory outlet in Tour-pak
- Tour-pak and saddlebag lights
- Tool kit
- Free Navigation Updates for CVO models (? Confirm)
- Heavy duty clutch (? Confirm)
I think its healthy to know exactly what is upgraded and bolted on to CVO models so you are well-informed when the inevitable troll comes along and starts to bash the CVOs as overpriced. Expensive? Maybe. Overpriced? Not if you had a master plan to buy a standard model and add the same components. Under those circumstances its possibly more of a bargain; especially considering you never get reimbursed for farkle on trade-ins. Generally speaking, if its its not stock, it doesn't matter for trade value. So same year, same model stock bike + comparable accessories versus a CVO, the CVO will bring more in trade.
