Title: Then came Bronson
Post by: reo on December 30, 2005, 09:37:33 AM
Speed brings back the lost drive-in. A bunch of gearhead movies, usually cars but soon they will feature the pilot movie to "Then came Bronson" featuring Micheal Parks and Bonnie Bedilia. @

reo, not being CVO related or an announcement for a feature of this site, I moved it on down here.

Then Came Bronson..........that part at the begining, where he rides down the two lane hiway, next to the ocean and across that big bridge was filmed on Hwy. 1 down by Big Sur, over on the coast.  I've rode that Hwy. many times and every time I cross that bridge, I can't help but remember the series and Bronson.

Thanks JCZ.

Yes Hub it was a sporty, but the series still holds a special place in my heart. The pilot has been rarely shown and the series almost never re-shown. The series is only available on bootlegged dvds. Seems ashame, although maybe if I saw it again I would realize it wasn't as good as I remember......naw, get real....  everyone would love to live like that going from town to town just me and my bike.

This will be a must see for me. I can remember when I was a kid watching that weekly series. It definitely put the spark in me to be in the wind.

It was 'The Wild Angles' with Peter Fonda and Nancy Sinatra in the star roles and of course ole Bruce Dern played in it too.

You can't fool me, Spyder.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, reo,
Watched on Speed Channel last night.  Michael Parks (Bronson) always looks, and acts, like he just ate 5 blue valiums.  Good flick, though.  I think James Dean had an affair with Bronson's Mom. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]Later--HUBBARD

Yeah Hubbard, watched the movie myself last night, you're right about old Bronson bein on a permanent down, but he was cool. Only other dude I can remember havin that thing going that good was Steve McQueen. Jimmy Dean seemed too pissed at the world for my taste. I always thought Bronson had some of that young thing, but I guess I missed some of the dialogue. A gentleman biker. Imagine that.

Pretty cool movie!  Those were the days when you could pull your bike out of a lake with a cook an old timer and a lady, AND have it running like new in a day or so.   ::)

Anyone see Michael Parks in Kill Bill 2?  He played a small part as some sort of South American Pimp.  The cool thing was his voice was like a smooth Jazz Bass.  He still exuded cool.   8-)

Was that Martin Sheen in the begining of the movie that jumped? It looked like a young Charlie Sheen.

Xl until he did something silly like doing jumps etc.... then the Sporty would change to, if I remember correctly, a SS 350, an Italian Made Aermacchi HD, 4 stroke 350 single.

I think you are correct, there, porthole!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Later--HUBBARD

And lo & behold, no Bronson

Buttttt, they did cut the heck out of it and seemed to have as many commercials as they did movie. [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

That is why I usually record to the DVR, I'll go through the recordings, pull the commercials, copy it to a DVD and then watch when I have the time, usually after 11pm.

Well I really wanted to see this again, watched every week as a teen.
Did a search, not available on video.

WooHoo lucky for me  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

It is on again in February.

Then Came Bronson Sun, Feb 5 9:00PM
