You are not alone trust me. ;D At least this way you get to see where your money is going, not as if we are smoking, drinking, pissing it away.

BTW - My accessory worksheet shows I've already spent $7,500 out of the $12,500 of stuff on the list. [smiley=nervous.gif]

The new GPS 2820 came today...there's a V.8 software now.  Been playing with it since I got home....nothing like new toys [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  Now if my motorcycle mounting kit will just get here Friday, I'm good to go.  Heading up to NC this weekend via Smokey Mountain HD in Maryville, TN, then over to Sylva, NC and a cabin in the woods for 3 nights.  Smokey Mtn HD is having a 4th of July kickoff party Saturday, if anyone's in the area. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  It's the GF's Birthday, and there's some leather outfit she wants at the dealer up there...hunted the damn thing down...can't live without it, so I guess I'll be purchasing it for her b'day...at least I won't be guessing what she wants, and I'll get some benefit from the purchase   :o ;)

Gonna try and meet up with Garznhogs, if possible....he's already in the area.

That's the ticket. "When GF/Wife is happy everybody is happy." ;) Have a good safe trip this weekend. Looks like the rain is finally going to head away from the east coast. I may try to get some riding in this weekend also after I finish doing yard work. Sun came out today and I swear I can hear the grass growing. :o [smiley=nervous.gif]

We're sucking wind down here with the rain...been really dry, but more ridin' time  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  I've threatened to turn some goats loose in the yard, they'd take care of the yard work  ;D  Keepin' the woman happy is up there high on the priority list...then, everybody is a happy camper  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Will try out the new Garmin this weekend, take a lot of pics, then post next week.  Hopefully, the weather will hold.  Get some riding in this weekend, Dood, and be safe!

I've used mine on one trip of 1100 miles, and it did a great job.  Easy to operate, create routes on the fly, etc.  Scrren is visible in all but bright light coming from directly over your shoulder, then it's a little dim, but still viewable.  I can also see the MP3 function being something I will enjoy, though haven't used it as yet.  Bluetooth use will be dependent on what kind of phone you have, earpiece, etc.  It comes with a mic, but I dont think it would be very usable on the bike unless you're stopped or going slow.  I'm still playing around with mine.

Sounds like what I need. Not for navigation, but for O C D! No, really, I get lost in my driveway. Gotta check it out.
Even with that fancypants GPS, we couldn't find each other in the mountains, eh?!  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Garz...if you're a gadget freak, you'll love it, man!!   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  One of the coolest features is the "find" functions...wherever you are, you can pull up a menu for gas stations, food, hotels...the food thing even has different types of cuisine to choose from, and then it lists them in order of distance from your present location...push a button on the touch screen to "go there" and it draws you a map, tells you what to do, and off you go.  Of course, not all places are listed, but it's a handy little thing.  Of course, it's got a woman's voice talking to you, but you can shut her up if you want  ;)  I thought Suzanne was talking to me when I was pulling up to an intersection, but it was the GPS babe...hit the PTT button and asked Suzanne if she said anything..she said "no"...I said "oh, it must have been the other bi@ch" (just kidding of course)...I got a good natured thump on the helmet for that one.   ;D ;D :o

I also like the tracking function.

I'm going to play around with the Bluetooth and feeding it all into the radio this weekend or next, depending on when my cables and power supply cords get here.

Where'd you find the newer software?  Mine showed up with V.6.11 and I would like to get rid of the marbles in her mouth....  I din't find any new software for it on the Garmin web site...

Cool...mine came shipped with it (the CD), and it was loaded on the GPS too.  I thought there was going to be an issue with the unlock code, but it's letting me use it...must have gotten the code out of the GPS...

I use the laptop to do my routes, then download to the unit...so having the right CD is important.

Don't understand why they would ship a new one without the new software...
