I have recorded music on to 2GB SD, it plays the tunes on the desktop, however when I insert it into the Zumo and go to the Music Menu and open it it indicates their are 0 / 0files.

What have I done wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Probably one of two problems.  Cartridge formatted in wrong mode or songs saved in wrong file type.

I inserted a 4GB  SDHC that had some pictures, I thought I had recorded music on it. On the desktop it shows it has music. When I insert into the Zumo and go to the play music menus, again it indicates no songs. However when I go into the Tools menu and go into user data and hit pictures, the pictures show up. So I know the Zumo is reading the SD Card, but it won't read the music portion. I am stumped.

As Don mentioned... check to make sure the format of the music is *.mp3 that is the only format of music the Zumo will play. If you have copied the music from your Ipod library w/o converting the files they will be the wrong format

How do you reformat in MP3. I am using Windows Media Player have music in the Library, thought I had it synched to the Zumo/SD Card which shows up in the menu on the left when SD card or Zumo is attached.

You can do a Google on MP3 convertions (or something like that) I know I got a free download converter a while back. I'm at work now so can't look it up.
Anybody else help?

I have used the format of MP3 at a rate of 128. I am not sure the exact specs of what type of MP3 format the Zumo will read, but I have been able to read the ones I have put on my card. Windows Media Player(WMP) will convert these files. WinAmp is another freeware program that will convert files. I think the options under WinAmp are a little more extensive than the options under WMP. WMP is slightly more user friendly than WinAmp with all the bells and whistles. Since the Zumo can be placed next to your computer, I suggest messing with the settings one song at a time. Then you can test and find the correct setup. I am sorry I do not have anymore concrete information at this time, but I am at work. I will try to give some updated setting on the songs that are on my Zumo now, at a later time.

Good luck!

Here are some more details folks!
1. The files were recored/transformed into MPEG Layer 3 Audio File
2. The bit rate is 160kbps
Try these settings and see if it helps!

Send Gary (d00d) a PM. He can tell you how. I have no idea, I just did what he told me.  ;D

I tried toplay my zumo last night with no luck... the music is downloaded OK, The file loads and plays OK on the unit, there is album info and everything... I also see the photos I loaded.

When I plug the unit into the radio I don't hear any sound... any suggestions?

If the music is coming out of the unit, then there must be a volume selection problem or a problem with the connection between your unit and the stereo you are pluggin it in to. Check the cable, check the volume settings, check what selection you are using on your stereo.

Thanks for the response... I figured out what the problem was, I had the bike on ACC, power goes to the unit when it's on ignition!

Works great now!
