Colorado 2020
Over the years I have been blessed with many fond memories of my time, riding, fellowshipping, meeting new friends, experiences and so much more as a result of this site.
Many moons ago, 2006, I was contacted by JC (JCZ) and ak (Andy) regarding their cross-country trip to my neck of the woods. It was exciting to hear of their plans and I must admit that I was envious of their planned adventure. I had already taken my own but there was something about our conversations that brought this all to a different level.
Somewhere along the way, I seemed to recall inviting myself along for the adventure back to Cripple Creek, CO. We had never met each other but on the telephone and I knew after that first conversation that I wanted to be a part of that krewe!
Since then I have had the wonderful opportunity of riding with these folks and many others around the USA and Canada. A wonderful experience filled with dreams coming true and adventure around the corner.
Earlier this year, I was contacted by JC, once again, to join him and a small krewe on his next adventure which included Colorado. I instantly made the commitment with anticipation each day! THEN IT COME – COVID-19! CHIT! I was still committed but uncertain of the future.
It was all looking acceptable, sure there were a number of items to consider and plan for with disappointments along the way. BUT COMMITTED. Then it came! The one event that had been rescheduled with a commitment I made 18 years ago. DAMN! Disappointed yes but I made the commitment and wanted to be there. My decision was shared with JC and as always, he was gracious and understanding. But that did not stop me from thinking of a trip to Colorado.
Yes, I have been there many times but this is a state that I enjoy and there is plenty to experience like so many other states. It was time to plan and that would take me back to some of the trips I enjoyed in the past. So with that in mind, I will be continuing an old thread that included our 2015 Ouray, CO GTG.
Come along, if you choose for another trip into Colorado as we continue our exploration of this adventurous state.
