I had to replace my disk because of bad shack when front brakes where applied. Harley store would not replace because the specks were good. Keep in mine this bike is a 2005 with low milage and still under warranty. Whats up with that?

Snook, welcome to the site!
I would think your rotor should've been covered under warranty, assuming it was still under the original 2-year warranty and not an extended one. A rotor is not exactly a routine maintenance item like pads.
Floating rotors dissipate heat better than solid ones, so it's less likely that they'll warp, but there has been a report or two here of rotors being replaced for warpage.

I had a warped rear rotor on my flhrsei2 at 12k miles. I got the "this is very unusual" because they are floating but it was replaced under warranty. Try a different dealer.

Good afternoon snook,
I send you the :welcome_005: from FRANCE.
It'll be nice for the other members if you present you in the thread "New Member Introduction"
with a pic of your bike :2vrolijk_21:
Best regards

Are you sure it's the rotors?
If they were tested and within spec....may not be the rotors? Maybe something else?

I've had the same problem twice with my mine . under 7,000 the first time and at around 12.000 this time dealer told me it's a wear item that is not covered i had to call HD myself because my dealer here in NJ SUCKS,they in turn had to check specs and get back to HD then i was told they would replace the rotors but i woulds have to pay to replace pads. Well the pads wouldn't have gone bad if the f$%*inn rotors didn't warp. Now on the second time back they say they can not warranty this chit, by the way bought an extended warranty that doesn't cover chit in HD's eyes every componet is a wear item.

I have an 06 SE Ultra. When I had it in for my 5000 mile service the mechanic told me my front rotors were out of spec and he replaced them both for free. He also installed new pads at the same time. I have 7600 miles now and no more warping yet. People think the floating rotors are not supposed to warp--thats bull. I don't recall the amount you have to be warped to be out of spec. It might be .008. Don't quote me on that

I've had this problem. My bike went in for a 10k service and came out with a warped front disc (noticed on braking for the first time) I believe it was damaged while the wheel was off but I couldn't prove it...had to cough up for new discs

Check another dealer, seems others have had replacement under warranty without issue.
Whether it is in spec or not, shaking is shaking and it isn't within spec.
