Now to be fair--the fellow who owns this 04 took a set of our boxes, cut them, made a new bottom, and had them recovered. Wasnt too cheap but alot less than a big amp! Again without spamming--we believe the only way to get more real sound is to add more speakers. Kinda like throwing a penny off a tall building, it will only ever go so fast, just like one small pair of speakers will only ever play so loud--no matter how much power you apply. Heck--even the original Davidsons figured out adding a second cylinder could give loads more power than just one..............

Mark, the lid is the same on a chopped pak, so there's no reason it shouldn't, other than you'd have about four new holes to drill for where the armrest part mounts.

I did notice that the "flap" that normally hangs down and covers the front of the box appears to have been removed on this bike.  That's probably because it would have interfered with the seat.

As a matter of fact, my bike is in the shop as I type having this performed..Color Matched Detachable King Tour Pac, with speaker pods from hd-dude, Hawg-Wired 4 channel system from hd-dude, Comfort Stitch armrest and so much more...when by this morning and it looks great.

The back rest never came off this bike. Once the pods in the pic were re-done, the customer held them in place, drilled the holes, and that was it--were done.

Giving this much thought, I think I'll go forth and do it. I'm sure it would be just that much more enjoyable for my wife and along with some hand-grips with covers to have even more of a secure feeling!! Plus I add more chrome -- AHH !! GEE !! that will suck !!

harley will absolutely sell you a color mathed king tour pack. $849 retail . You can also just buy the pack without the lid for around 450. Then put your chopped lid on it (05seegs , sorry 04 guys

Mike, for the chopped pak the part number for the bottom is in the bike's breakdown.  I was told at time of order on mine that for the king pak that part number was actually a kit part number from which a part number for the base could be looked up.  Fortunately have never had a reason to need it.  But that was a question I asked when I got the king pak for the red bike.

Don't know how, but my dealer did it after they changed my detachable rack that was defective. Oops. I think I can see where you are headed with this, and I may have to check in getting the chopped bottom.
