Dyno results on 08 Night Rod

RedRider:
H-D advertises this bike at 125 HP and 85 ftlbs torque.  I just put on new Supertrapp exhaust and a PC III.  Dyno results are 105.46 HP and 72.11 ftlbs of torque.  The bike is faster and the sound is great, but where is the 125HP?

What are your thoughts on these results.  Any suggestions to take this ride to 125 HP?

Also dynoed my FLHTCUSE3.(before and after)..will post before and after over on FLHTCUSE3 string.

(PHOTO IS BEFORE ADDING THE SUPERTRAPPS - THEY LOOK SIMILAR BUT ARE TOTALLY BLACK)

The advertised TQ/HP numbers that are put out by the MoCo are from the crank, and not from the rear wheel therefore they will be lower. You've mentioned the most reliable dyno..... "Butt Dyno" :2vrolijk_21:

Like d00d mentioned, HD numbers are at the crankshaft.  Your numbers are down just a little...depending on exhaust and tune, most are around 110-115HP and 76-80TQ.  If you're happy with the way the bike drives (throttle response, no stumble at 3-4 thousand RPM), and happy with the sound of the pipes, just ride it. If you did not modify the airbox any, 105 is about as good as you'll get...the stock airbox does not allow enough air in, even with the K&N filter.  Removing the top of the airbox is known as running "Topless", and you'll have to relocate the sensor, but that's no big deal.  You can do "semi-topless" and keep the temp sensor in the same place by removing the top of the box, and cutting out the plastic between the "grids" around the intake hole, and drilling a few large holes around the top and sides of the top half of the box.  That'll give you another 5-10HP, and 4-6 ft lbs, but you'll need another tune, most likely.  I've got a thread in the Vrod section about the V&H 2/1 pipe that shows photos of a semi-topless mod.

You'll not see 125HP out of the 1250 without doing some other work, and that will cost you some money.  With the Vrod, it's not so much about the total numbers, but it's ALL about how quickly it revs....there's not too many bikes out there that will keep up with you, as is.

rednectum:
have friend with screamin eagle vrod. added thunderheader, topless. tuned at montgomery hd with reported 122hp
was on teressi dyno drag at local hd shop. lined up against SE vrod. he claimed 118 hp. my dyna ran 10.5 to his 10.2 IIRC. i spun the roller faster through the gears, you could hear him spin up faster once in fifth--thats the HP!

BTW, the teressi showed me at 109hp???? mild 95 inch build. dyno was a little  happy huh????
