30" on a RG
« on: October 20, 2020, 05:31:10 PM »

Was at an annual club toy run this past weekend and a CVO RG parked next us with a 30" front tire. The owner was telling me that it rides and steers as good as stock. I question this. To me 1, it has to take more room to turn this thing around. 2, the sidewall is 1/2 what my stock tire is so I would think it would be a rougher ride.
Anyone out there have experience with these taller tires? I for one do not. I do alot of long rides and vacations with my 13' Ultra. I don't see bikes with these big front ends on the highway or packed up for long hauls.

One of my long range riding buddies has a skinny 21" front. I have a fatty 18". He said that if he had it tondo again, he'd go fat and shorter instead of tall and skinny.

I have heard that the fatty is the way to go... Can be pricey tho.
