Can I do that or will it burn up? I have the Rineharts and I've been trying to tone it down a hair by wrapping the baffles with steel wool ... it worked for a little while, but it just keeps blowing out. I've wrapped them twice already, once loosely and the second time I wrapped them tight ... either way it blows out. I was hoping I could get away with trying header wrap next if it can take the heat, I'm guessing it could since the baffles are the "cooler" part of the pipe compared to where header wrap usually goes. What do you guys think?
P.S.
I'm not interested in the 2" cores that Rinehart sells.

Anybody?

Candyman,
I would go to this site and pose the question in email to Gerald directly. Since he is the man who designed it and knows the air flows and the possible draw backs.

Thanks. I guess I'll give that a try, but I didn't think it was such a technical question to bother him with.

Question: Is header wrap a flamable material? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Seems like it would be awfully restrictive.
I doubt it would burn, I have it on my headers in an SRT 10 Dodge with the Viper engine. They had to be wrapped as one of the pipes surrounds the steering column and the headers glow red when running. The column is wrapped as well. No signs of burning.

Thanks for the heads up, they sure do get toasty.
