Strange bottom noise
« on: May 28, 2006, 06:42:19 PM »

As I was sitting at a light and my oil tempture was climing to 240, I heard a rotaiting grinding crunching noise comming from the stator area and then a loud bang like someone hit a steel table with a ball hammer and then the noise stoped and have not heard it again, I checked the charging system and all was good, I know the stator has magnets inside, but for the life of me I cant figure out what has happen, what do you guys think? maybe it's time to pull the primary and take a look see

'Bleve Ol' lair meant to say 10MM.  That is a helluva' piece to pack in your boot, unless he has a derringer.  Me?  I keep mine in the tour-pak.  In my boot would be too easy to get to, if you know what I mean there, Dude.  Later--HUBBARD

Just a thought, but you could have picked up something on your drive belt, or something foreign around the front pulley, and the noise came from it running its course.  Dudn't take much effort to inspect that area.  Later--HUBBARD
