Painted tourpack LED light bar. A GREAT big thanks to Joe at Xtreme Dimensions for the nice work. The worse part about the job was the packaging and shipping to Joe. You will have to contact Joe for pricing.

Looks great I especially like the painted vent, makes it go away.
-
I was planning on doing that to mine to I think it looks grate but will paint the inside of the vent to l have a local painter here well 3 different ones so l don't have to ship it p.s. lol your plates are out of date
-
Love it - great work. Adds a finishing touch to the bike. I just don't get how riders can see how this simple change makes the bike look much better but the factory doesn't... I know, cost but close to $40K - this should be done from the factory.

Thanks for the kind words fellows. The chrome vent cover and light bar cover is easier but wasn't for me.
Havenolife-thanks for the heads up on the plates. Normally get the renewal in the mail in December.

That's why I sent the parts to Joe at Xtreme Dimensions (New Jersey). Talk to him, he is a site vendor. I gave him the paint name and sent a side cover and Joe did his magic.

Looks great, beautiful bike! Can't go wrong with Joe.

As Gunny would say... OUT-F**KING-STANDING!
That mail slot looks SO much better painted like that! I bet Joe is gonna get a ton of orders for those!
The MoCo should have done that for all of the fairing-equipped CVOs. Cheap bastards...
The TP light bar looks awesome, too!

Nice paintwork boatman. Where did you get the Screaming Eagle badge on your top box from?
Cheers Tom

The medallion is from Harley and used to be listed in the "Screamin Eagle" section of the accessory catalogue but don't see it listed any more. I have seen them at dealers but don't know the part number.

Outer vent-Once you get the outer fairing off, the outer vent is held in by 2 clips and double sided tape-no fasteners. If you take the top of the inner fairing vent off, you remove the vent with two torx screws and then the top comes off the vent by using a wide putty knife to pry the top out of the clips.
LED light bar-the part you paint is part of the LED light bar-it does not seperate. Unplug light, remove 8-10 torx screws, and remove the antenna bases from the light bar.

Looks good Bob!

I don't think the chrome will look good there on gold Rick. :nixweiss:

They both look much better. Joe did my light bar also and it looks great. After I got t back I was kicking myself for not doing the chrome pieces on the bottom of my tour pack.

Mail slot looks AWESOME!
Now it looks like it should have from the CVO factory. :2vrolijk_21:
Light bar frame looks way better painted-to-match.
Anybody can slap on some chrome, but a real customizer uses paint to personalize their ride IMHO.
Very nice customizing job.

The paint job looks awesome....now you need to update that "SEUC5" license plate, maybe we should all offer ole Bob a few suggestions for a new tag??? ;D

That's Ohio sand Stuart. :cherry: Thanks for all of the kind comments everyone.
You looking at what needs to be done Harley?

Noticed a couple of comments above about the color match of CVO paint. Apparently someone in the past thought it was a problem and a wives tale got started. The paint is no problem, made by PPG, I have had 3 CVO's and got the colors for all of them by just walking into the local PPG distributor and buying what I needed, on the 05 I had the codes, got them from someone on this site, called and ordered them and picked it up an hour later , the '09 I just told counterman the HD paint name and he de-coded it, the current 15 RG Ultra the guy I use for the actual spraying of the paint took care of getting the colors as I was busy. But none of them have been a problem, and although I assume the guy @ Xtreme does good work and is a good guy, the packing/shipping etc is a pain, all towns have a good body shop of some sort that mixes PPG or has a supplier who mixes it. All three bikes the color match has been spot on, took no tinting or blending to match.
I know if you see it on the internet and the internet says CVO colors are a problem, but in this case, maybe first time the internet is wrong.

Great look. I thought I had an original idea (at least it was in my area). I had mine painted last fall. However, I never thought about the light bar. I like it!

Hey Boatman: could you tell me where you got that SE emblem on the rear of the tourpak? and how is it attached?

Screamin' Eagle Medallion-92209-05 (http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/screamin-eagle-medallion). It is stuck on with adhesive tape attached to the emblem.
