Yes, it is a hammock seat.  It is not leather, however.  I believe this is the seat part number http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/hammock-heated-rider-passenger-seat.

As for comfort, there is nothing better IMO.  Coming from a 95 Fat Boy with a hard seat, I can ride all day without discomfort.  Add the backrest and I am good to go for the long haul.

It's a hammock seat with dual heating and leather inserts, part number 52000083.  I don't see it listed in the accessory catalog, but in the parts listing the MSRP is almost $1200, as compared to the seat that is in the catalog at $899.  Like all CVO "leather" seats, the only leather is in the actual inserts that your butt contacts, and the sides are vinyl.

I really like mine. I could do with or without the heated part. But rode 3000 miles during bike week and not once did it bother me.

I think I will go with the non cvo hammock heated seat. If I went with the cvo hammock I would need to change the tour pak back rest to look right.

Thanks to all for the info

I love the seat and it is more comfortable than my 2010 Ultra. The heat has been great. I have used the low setting several times. My wife liked the extra space as well. She had a pro pad on the Ultra but so far she has done great without one.

same with my wife.  she used a pro-pad on my 13 CVO but the wider seat and greater depth due to the tour pak relocation has made it more comfortable for her

Does anyone know if this seat will fit and work on a 2009 Street Glide? Does my 2009 SG have an unused connector under the seat to make this a plug and play?

Thanks in advance. I purchased a used 2009 SG late last fall and my girl friend is not too happy with the stock SG seat.

I think it is the most comfortable seat I have ever ridden on. Thought the heat was a joke, but it is great. Use it regularly late at night.

The seat, either the one in the catalog for $899 or the leather insert one on the CVO, will fit the 2009 Street Glide.  As for the wiring, you can connect it to the standard accessory circuit like in the kit instructions, or if you use that dash mounted accessory switch for something else you could do a more involved but not terribly difficult custom connection.  The seat itself has two built in switches to turn the heat on and off as well as set the level, so all you really need is a switched power supply to the seat.  Preferably you would want the power to be supplied from a circuit that is controlled by the ignition switch and only in the RUN position.  Accidently leaving the seat energized while the bike is shut down could drain your battery in short order.

This is the non-CVO heated seat:   http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/hammock-rider-passenger-seat-pa-16-52000004--1

Click on the attached pdf for the installation instructions for the heated version.

I have the same seat on my 15 and have had 17,000 comfortable miles so far be aware the seat height is much higher than the stock limited was perfect for me but vertically challenged riders may not be happy. I think it's about 1.5 inches taller.

Thanks for the excellent help guys, I have an opportunity to purchase a used one, but I am not excited about an additional 1 1/2" of additional height.

Personally I did not like the stock seat. It was not comfortable fir more than 400-500 miles a day to me. Went with a Corbin that works much better.

Always wanted to try a Russell "day long" seat and finally ordered on as a comparison. Should have that by the end of April.

When we ride 400 to 500 miles in a day we do get stiff. We also get stiff in my truck. I have tried other seats but for us the CVO seat has been great.  I imagine everyone had different seat preferences based on height, weight, etc. My wife doesn't need any other cushions she just rides. As long as I keep her happy I am happy!  ;D
