Question to those who know....

Besides the paint, outline the differences between the 2014 vs. 2015...

Go!

Okay Jock as an inquiring mind and some free time I found the following items per the HD sheets for 2014 vs. 2015.

Pricing Section

$350 more for the 2015

Dimensions Section

Front speakers are now 6.5 in for the 2015, were 5.25 inch front on the 2014

Infotainment Section

Interface supports additional foreign languages now

Chassis Section

New "Chrome Slicer Custom Wheels"

Performance

Higher lean angles for left and right      (believe this is a motor sensor for emissions; not sure).

Electric Section
Says in the note section at the bottom the two larger gauges are 10% larger with 68% wider numbers and the two smaller gauges are 28% larger with 30% wider numbers.

So there you go Jock, for an additional $350.00 you get two larger front speakers, the ability to read the infotainment screen in a foreign language of your choice, high speed chrome slicer wheels front and back, new motor sensors you have no idea do what, and larger gauges since we're all older and blind, thus the name geezer glide.

Oh they changed the breather cover and a few other chrome goodies you'd have to pay attention to in order to see a difference, I see new hand grips, etc.

I'm partial to the Gold Rush v Carbon Dust paint scheme.   :2vrolijk_21:

Chassis Section

New "Chrome Slicer Custom Wheels"

Performance

Higher lean angles for left and right      (believe this is a motor sensor for emissions; not sure). OMG, hold me back from buying. Under performance the upgrade is higher lean angle. Some performance upgrade that is!

Electric Section
Says in the note section at the bottom the two larger gauges are 10% larger with 68% wider numbers and the two smaller gauges are 28% larger with 30% wider numbers.  That sucks, they know we are getting older and can't see as well. Does this include the CVO reading Glasses?

Pretty sure my '14 FLHTKSE has 6.5" speakers. I believe it is the non-CVO's that have 5.25" speakers.

The 2014 CVO spec sheet said 5.25 wouldn't be the first time a spec was wrong.

The also changed the dash trim plate. It was turned aluminum with matching trim on the tank, now it appears to be a black mesh. Harley has already dropped the 14 turned alum. trim for the dash. If you have a 14 CVO Limited, take real good care of that trim, not available any longer. The trim for the tank is still available, not the 14 CVO dash trim.

Wow! I'm completely underwhelmed by the near total lack of improvements, additional features, and mediocre paint jobs, etc on the new models, especially the TOL CVO LTD's. I guess it was to be expected...H-D spent their load on the "Rushmore" models from last year, so they basically sat this year out, apparently. With the competition from Polaris stepping up, H-D has decided to sleep (again)!

Not so sure they sat around with the introduction of the new Road Glide and cvo twin cooled Road Glide.  Sure glad I bought the cvo limited in July. The only thing I would like to have is the bigger speakers up front. I like the 110 air cleaner cover and the wheels for 2014.

The information is almost the EXACT verbage as the 14, along with the paint scheme!! When you see the picture of the 14 than the 15 only the colors seem different to me. Of coarse my eyes must be getting bad at my age!

Yep, the paint schemes are identical other than the colors and the graphics for 15 have a marbled look.

Local dealer had a 2015 CVO limited in stock today.. the metallic gray and burgundy color.. or whatever they are calling it.  Bike was sharp, I liked the new wheels and floorboards.  I did not like the new grips. The bike was really sharp looking but did not dazzle me like I thought it would.  They also had 3 new Limiteds and 3 new Road glides.  The handle bars on the Road glides have been pulled back at least 5", I did not care for that.  They also had 2 Limited lows....  They have a Street Glide CVO inbound..

I want to test drive the limited low. At 5'6" I'm really curious as to if they hit a home run for us little guys.

I want to test drive the limited low. At 5'6" I'm really curious as to if they hit a home run for us little guys.

I think they will be a big hit. I saw several "under tall" people checking them out.

I wonder if the new dash and tank trim panels are stickers on a thin panel, like the 15 air cleaner. Unlike the 14 CVO Limited. It had a turned alum. Trim panel on the dash, tank panel and air cleaner.

The gold/black looks great but would look even better with a black engine instead of granite.  Granite engine sticks out like a sore thumb.  I also think the 15 marbleing looks better in the striping than what was done to the 14's ..

Drove down to AD Farrow H-D in Columbus, Ohio today to take a look at the 2015 CVO Limited They have the Palladium Silver/Typhoon Maroon bike there it is just off the shipping crate and not assembled yet I was able to look at it as is. Very disappointed in the decal black mat on the air cleaner cover. The corners of the decal was off the air cleaner surface about 1/16 of an inch on both upper and lower decals you could push the corners in and they would just pop back out. They also had the Duracell road glide there and the decal on the air cleaner was the same way. Not at all what you would expect on a $40,000.00 motorcycle. I can see dirt and bugs getting under it and pealing the corners up more and more until they start coming all the way off. They had the blue 2014 CVO limited there also and the air cleaner cover on it looked much better than the 2015. I think the swirled aluminum air cleaner cover looks much better and will last a long time. I think the basket weave decal is going to be a short life part I hope I am wrong!!! By the way I am not a fan of the Silver/Maroon I did not care for it.

Know this area quite well as I am there quite often.  Sad news is they will more than likely get that price given the area.  Cool Springs is located near all of the "big money" in Nashville and the other dealer Columbia will not be obtaining any stock until next year according to the manager.

Just not from me...besides I do not know what "big money" even looks like!

I just called Cool Springs and they want 5000.00 over MSRP for that bike. I'm OUT on that one.
Knew Cool Springs was usually over MSRP but would not have expected that much.  They may sell it eventually but may get to hold it a while.  As Jock says there are people in this area that price is not a problem.  Unfortunately I'm not one of them.  They have a CVO RGU I'm interested in but have not priced yet.  One good thing is we have 4 dealers in the Nashville area to price compare (Cool Springs, Columbia, Boswell and Bumpus).

Checked out the 15 street glide CVO at my local dealer today, what a bike!!! Paint is out of this world. Have no idea why anyone wants a 300 amp stereo system. Overall stunning bike!!!

the spec sheet may say 300 amps, but it's all a numbers game.  is that max, or rms?  i know that my 2013 fltrxse2 has an upgraded sound system (not sure if it's 300 amps????) and it really doesn't get all that much louder than a regular stock radio.  it doesn't have to 'push' as hard, and it does sound better, but overall volume is not that much higher.

The tech was checking the bike out and turned up the volume. The sound was clear, strong and extremely loud. it could compete with some of the low riders I have heard, doors vibrating as they slowly drive through town. They said it has two amps, one front and one for the back speakers. The front speakers are unique, they have tweeters. At this time, the speakers on the street glide cvo are not available for any other model, they are unique to that bike. Harley really went all out on this bike, the paint is out of this world, I could go on and on. It's out of my league.

That's a total of 300 WATTS RMS (all channels combined), not 300 Amperes! The bike's charging system produces well under 100A (50A actual) at max output.

The acoustic output is not much greater because a 3db "next step" increase in sound output requires doubling of amplifier power in Watts.

Adding to Yellowbird's pics.  Went to my local dealer and they had a 2015 silver and maroon that just arrived.  It hasn't been set up yet but at least you can get an idea of the color.  Like most pictures on the Harley site it looks much better in person.  $16,800 and my 09 CVO Ultra and it's mine.  I was holding out for the 2015 CVO Road Glide but I read that there is only 2.1" of rear travel on the suspension.  Bumps are transmitted right to your spine.  No way I (and my wife) would go for that.

Well they're closed today so Monday at the earliest.  :)  This dealership offered me $22,500 for my 09.  Another dealer (where I originally purchased the bike) offered me $25,000 but their price on the bike was a little higher.  Essentially the cost there would be my bike and $15,000 which is still better than the $16,800 I'd be paying here.  Of course this dealer actually has the bike I want so that's a big plus.  There is a woman in our local HOG chapter that has an 08 CVO.  She said if I ever wanted to sell I should give her first option.  I sent her an email and offered it to her for $26,500 which I think is very fair.  The NADA MSRP is $28,000 and I've put another $5,000 into it.  I'm waiting to hear back.

i think that you're referring to the road glide custom rear shocks that only have 2 inches of travel.  the parts manual shows the same rear shocks for the cvo roadglide ultra that are on the limited.

This color combination looks WAY better than I thought it would look. This would be a strong second place color for me right behind the gold and black. :2vrolijk_21: :bananarock:

ekimo60, you're absolutely right!  I went back and reread the article and it was referring to the Special: http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/reviews/2015-harley-davidson-road-glide-special-first-ride

The CVO Street Glide also has 2.1" of travel according to this article: http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/harley-davidson/2015-harley-davidson-cvo-street-glide.html

Looks like the CVO Road Glide is back in the running for me.

Just purchased a 2015 CVO limited gold/black from Jim's Harley-Davidson in Mendon, Ohio. I traded my wrecked 2009 CVO in for it. It will be in sometime late December the trade was on MSRP with no freight or set up charges. That will give me the rest of this season and winter to heal up for next spring!!!

Yes, get well brother. I want to see that color. I have been to my local dealer twice and none yet or expected anytime soon. The Gold is the hot color for 2015. Prayers for your full recovery.
