03 SERK Chrome Oil Cooler Install Question
« on: July 11, 2007, 10:53:40 PM »

I installed PN# 62995-04 Chrome Oil Cooler Cover on my 03 SERK today. The instructions say to used a heat gun to remove the old oil cooler cover, well after getting the heat gun out I decided not to use it due to the cramped quarters.

So I carfeully used a gasket scraper to remove the metal cover an tape from the top of the oil cooler. I then reused to two side front spongy pieces of tape to the new oil cooler cover, but I did not use the double sided tape that was originally mounted to the top of the OIL cooler cover.

The instructions say nothing about reusing the double sided tape but after I installed the new Chrome Oil Cooler cover got me wondering if I should of done so?

TIA,
John

No, you dont need to reuse the tape, the bolts through the bottom hold it fine.
