How was that determined?
Was it disassembled?
What transmission fluid was used?

I complained of a noise  I heard . The tech agreed and torn down the trans. When he examined the main bearings they were bad. he is replacing all bearings the rest of the trans is great. Billy

First time i have heard of it on a SERK, But 3 of the guys i ride with have 06 Dyna's this has happened to all three of them, The Wide Glide we just have finished with it for the 2nd time, But this time it was the bearings on both sides of the tranny as well as the main shaft, the new shaft is just a little smaller in dia. but the new race is thicker, same part #, the other Dyna is in the shop right now with about 2500 miles on it since last Oct. when it went out while we were in M> Beach for the Fall Rally, The bearings in the Wide Glide came out on our way back from MB and he has put appox. 8000 miles on it.

You might want to talk your dealer into replacing both bearing and the shaft with the new ones.

Thanks the dealer is replaceing all abearings in the trans. Should be done on Wed. if all the bearings come in Mon. Billy

How was that determined? When stopped with clutch in, sounded like a thrasing machine
Was it disassembled? Yes, The 2nd time it went out on Jasen's W. Glide it was the bearing on the right side, We pulled the tranny, This time it was the bearing and it had worn into the shaft as well, The new shaft is a little small in dia. and the race is a little thicker, We gave it a good work out yesterday and everything working good, He said he thinks it shifts better now than it ever has.
What transmission fluid was used? SYN3, He changed to HD Dino oil this time or maybe the HD tranny oil, Tried to talk him into Red Line.

The bike rides great now. First time that it is quiet . New Metzelers and new trans bearings made quite a difference. Hope they last. billy Great in the thunderstorms coming back from Springfield IL Mon the 31st.

6 speed

6 speed. I used Spectra 6 speed oil also  Shifts nice now and no whine Billy

Dyna's came out with the 6 speed first in 06, then everything else went to 6 speed in 07, except Sporty's and i guess V-ROD's.
