How to cover that naked fender
« on: November 09, 2006, 05:50:46 PM »

As you know the graphics on the top of the rear fender on a 07 SERK is unfinished.  I worked with a leather guy and came up with a bib with leather flames to closely match the flames on the top of the bags.

He can make more so if anyone is interested I will ask what the price would be for a group buy if you are interested.  Sorry about the indoor flash photo, I will get a better picture in the sun if it ever comes out again.  LOL

That looks nice and covers up the MoCo's #%^$-up nicely. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] You or the maker of these better put a patent on them quickly or else the MoCo is likely to start mass-producing them, and say you stole the idea from them. ::)

Great solution to a less than elegant factory execution. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Very nice indeed!  I continue to be amazed at the ingenuity of the members of this site.  I hope that the MoCo is taking heed of some of the idea that continue to be presented here...

I've been looking (unsuccessfully) for the earlier posts on this subject to find out what the H*#$ the problem is that has caused so much verbal consternation.  Don't tell me HD didn't extend the graphic under the passenger seat pad.  What did they do?

I need to know what the issue is so I'll know how mad I should get when mine arrives.

So the 07 paint jobs are nice and such an improvement on the issues with the 06's but the SOB's are still cuttin corners. You know it's such a shame, back in the day when the bastards leaked oil like a sieve, rattled the teeth out of your head and broke down every 500 miles, the one thing we had goin for us with the metric riders was the paint and the chrome. Man H-D factory paint and chrome in those days was some sweet. Now they run like clocks, don't leak a drop, rarely break down but the chrome peels and the paint is short changed. Why don't they just charge another $500 and get it right. They know we'll pay it.
