Title: Alcohol for cleaning
Post by: LMR on March 15, 2018, 12:38:30 PM
I clean my own albums and use a mixture of 50/50 alcohol, distilled water with a few drops of Dawn liquid detergent as a surfactant. For the bike I will delete it down some more. I use it on the windows at home and works great. While awaiting motor work, I am cleaning the wheels and chrome. Anyone else try this?

Alcohol used strictly for consumption while cleaning :orange:

I think I would stick to cleaning/polishing products for bikes or cars not some homemade concoction that could harm the delicate paint or chrome surfaces. I can envision the alcohol and Dawn stripping the oils out of the paint or removing lubricants in parts of the bike's moving parts.
Just my .02 though and I am not a professional vehicle detailer.

Pain in the butt but came out nice. Finished off with topcoat. I tried posting a picture but the file was too big.
