What are you thoughts about installing Dynamat in the inside of my fairing and saddle bags to help the sound quality? I just upgraded my stereo for the 3rd time and the installer tells me I should install the Dynamat but my thoughts is this away for them to sell me more stuff and to get more of my $$$$$ out of my wallet.

I remember installing dynomat inside a kury chrome tranny cover on my 2000 Valkyrie Interstate to quiet the tranny whine.  Workd just OK.

I though of trying inside my road glide fairing but ended up going to hi fidelity wireless earbuds.

What I want to know is how it might work if I stuck a layer of dynomat on the outside of my rocker covers to quiet the   &*^(&^%%^*&^^^ clicking and clacking.  Rockers lockers didn't do it. Head job didn't do it.  S&S premums didnt help.

I do not know how that will work... Bite the bullet and try it. It can't hurt

At one time the outer fairing came with a piece of material over the speakers to help with the sound.

Think about everything that is inside the fairing. It certainly isn't an ideal environment. The Rushmore bike come with speaker enclosures. Biketronics has a kit to do away with the enclosure. What's the right way, got me. My 13 has so much stuff under the fairing I don't see where any sound material would help. I'll let you know about the 18 when I get there....

What for components are you running on version 3?

I installed Genuine Dynamat in the fairing of my 09 SERG. Bought a pre-package deal that was spec'd as for a street rod door. Worked out fit wise good. Did it help sound? Never could tell. Would I do it again? NO.
Everyone who listened said it sounded same to them and I agreed. I had a 300 Watt Amp system and speakers. Just wanted it to sound better, but really? Nope.
