YES YES AND YES!!!!!

If the wideband sensor fails not only will it throw a code (at least it's supposed) it'll automatically drop back to an open loop mode relying on the base map stored in the ECM.  So you'll keep right on riding.  If your base map is very good you'll likely not even feel much difference.

I have a SERT in both Elvis and LD. I have no complaints. That says a lot coming from me  :D
Elvis runs like a damn Swiss watch and I expect once I've had the 2nd dyno done on LD it will be the same.
Just my $0.02

So BB give us an estimate of when that's scheduled.
I'm thinking any day now!

Actually Skip, originally you would have been right. LD has over 1,000 miles on it since the 103 upgrade, but Jimmy the tech that did the work suggested I wait till I'd put 2,500 on it so long as it was running good. He said he'd like to be able to really go to work on programming the SERT because he hasn't had much of a chance on any 07 models. I figure after Big Daddy comes out next week with all the riding we've got planned, I should be good to go on getting it up to the mileage Jimmy's looking for. Remind me again in two weeks if I haven't mentioned it.

Ok, I've read all the previous pages regarding SERT v. ****
Zippers AT seems to win this debate for now....

My question is:
Any pros/cons to using the Zippers on a bone-stock 0mi motor, then adding pipes, a/c etc down the line?

I take delivery on my new red/black SEUC in 3 days and am trying to weigh all the options.
Will the AT make any difference on a new, stock engine?

My plan is to put the Auto-Tune on first, then after 1k, go w/Rinehart TD and SE A/C, then down the line, cams & etc.

All replies are most welcome!
ps-thanks guys, for all the info posted at CVOHarley!!

I don't know if this has been brought up or not, but on a softail with a Mustang seat, at least on the one we used, there isn't room for the PC under the seat so it has to be mounted elsewhere.  And there isn't another good place to mount it.  For that reason I'd use a SERT.

Some are having an excellent experience with the autotuning Thundermax system.  Others, however, are not.  And when it's "not" effective support is something of a crap shoot.

When it works well it seems to work very well.  When it doesn't, however, it can be unrideably out of tune.

From what everyone has said on the 110ci motor it runs very hotttttt!!!! Adding one of the devices in this discussion will/should decrease temperatures a bit if nothing more.  There are CVO brothers that have needed replacement engines shortly after only break-in mileage...that scares the beejeebers out of me.  I am having the SERT placed as soon as the FKN dealer releases my bike, even though the bike will only have break-in style of riding; it is summer and the break-in will be occurring in NY/NJ where traffic is da pitz.
