Title: 30,000 Mile Service Requirements ?
Post by: knothead on March 14, 2011, 08:39:28 PM
I'm ready to perform the 30k service, although our maintenance manual schedule stops at 25k.

Is there anything special about the service that I should know about?

Follow this link to the service checkup page on the Harley website, put in your VIN and mileage, and you will be able to print out the maintenance schedule.

I type in my VIN and mileage (40K) and I get the message back "Talk to your dealer about your next service interval".

Knothead,I was just looking at my service manual and it looks like everything on the entire list is marked at 20K except for compensator sprocket isolators( which are suppose to be inspected at every rear tire change), front fork oil sayes 50K miles, steering head bearing also 50K for disassemble  lubricate and inspect, and the battery which you are suppose to check the connections annually. It seems like every 10k you pretty much do the same thing until you get to 50K service. I can't imagine what else a person would look to do. Any suggestions? CAHDBIKER

Your right....The 30k is really the same as each 10,000 mile service..although we went ahead and changed the fork oil to a heavier weight.

Seems like it helped the nose dive on the ride home, we'll see this weekend.
