Anyone tried Diamond Gusset Jeans?

Anyone ever tried the Diamond Gusset Jeans I've hearing about?  What do you think?  The ad sounds good and they're made in america.

I know at least TC and I have.  On the way back to Chuck's place and Traxxion Dynamics this past spring I stopped at their store just off I-40.

Timing was perfect as I was needing jean.  Only had about zero pairs left that weren't worn through someplace so was looking forward to trying them.  Loved them immediately.  The boys really notice the differnce.

I came out with (I think) six pair of pants.  Still like them both for riding and general use.  Among that was one pair of their riders pants with the kevlar reinforcements.  Those are only minimally more restrictive than their standard pants.  Much less so than I expected they'd be.  And they are obviously a rider's pants.  Velcro at the end of the legs.  Clips for keys right where you'd want it.  Obviously designed by some who'd spent some time in the saddle.

I've got a pair of black, two of the regular blue jeans, and the Kevlar pair.  It's all I wear anymore, even when not riding.  The Kevlar is a bit warm in the summer months, but are quite comfortable when it's not 95 degrees out.  Well made product... :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Those jeans look like a great product. I mysel :2vrolijk_21:f have been wearing Carhart jeans for years. They are made from 15oz. cotton, very durable and comfortable fit. Recently a motorcycle magazine did a test on riding pants, including pairs with renforcements, The Carharts got a mention as a great product. They are availible through sears and other stores and of course lots of online retailers too,

When I retired in 1999 only thing I had in the closet was 6-7 business suits, white shirts and 1 polo shirt.  The only things in the closet now are 5 pairs of Diamond Gusset black jeans, 12,385,999 black H-D teeshirts and the heated electric gear.  Wife says she saved one suit to bury me in.

Just got a pair delivered yesterday.Fit great. Then my wife grabbed them to wrap for Christmas.Seems they're a little lighter weight than Levies or Wranglers.Good thing or bad depending on the temp.Think they're going to be great on the bike when the snow melts in about 5 months.

Earlier I said the Diamond gussets were great. I just encountered my first problem with them. I tried them on after being on holidays for three weeks and all pairs seem to have shrunk from sitting in the closet. (I hate when that happens)

VAZHog  - Wayne - told myhusband and I last fall in MV, that if you put clothes in the closet and close the doors, they can shrink.  You got to leave them out in the sun.

I'm just passing on what was told to me.

Yup same thing happened to me.  Get them in the sun and have your home tested for Radon gas.  You never know.  Also turn off the TV.  I heard that the TV being on too much can make clothes shrink....

got a pair and they're alllllright, didn't seem to last as long. Jean material kinda thin. I don't remember what style I got, they were comfy but need moe durability.    I prefer carhartts.  Started using them for riding a few years ago and I loved them.  thumbs up for me.  Let's Roll

The blue jeans by carhart are made of 15 0z cotton the heaviest material in the blue jean biz....I too used to wear carhart duck clothing for in the cold...but in sunny south west Fl...i gave em away when i moved down 10 years ago. One of the bike magazines did a write up of riding pants a few months back....Carharts where the only jeans endorsed by them

I agree w/ you in the ballroom coment.  the diamond G one's fit you like a pair of speedos.  No room for adjustment on the bike.  Sometimes you just gotta let your jinggles, janggle.  Let's Roll

Don't get the comments about the DG jeans being too tight in the crotch.... :nixweiss:  They specifically eliminated that problem in my case.  As for wear characteristics, I've been wearing the same two pair for well over a year, and they are holding up as well as any jeans I've ever owned.  I also have a pair of the DG Defender (Kevlar reinforced), and really like them to ride in.

That's what's great about this site.  What fits you, might not fit me and what you don't like, I might love.  So i just throw out the info. and let everyone decide, that's what I do.  Read, become informed, ask probably too many questions and then go for it.  One thing's for sure we love to ride.   Let's Roll

Liked my gusseted jeans 'till it got warm & i got to do 200 -300 miles 3 days in a row.The seam at the rear of the gusset where 3 pieces of material make kind of a knot hits me right in the taint.Felt like they were going to ware a blister on it.Glad they weren't all I had along on a 2 week trip.Guess I'll stick to my Wranglers.

bought a few of the DG's in the newer style stonewash material. it seems to be a little heavier than the standard jean but more expensive. All of the ones I have owned seem to be "short waisted". But I like them ok. Glad to hear the defender comments. Been think about a pair. Some one else to try is Duluth Trading. They have some great firehose jeans. Cheap and great quality. Same material fire hose is made of. :bananarock:

DG's are all I wear anymore...the boys enjoy them, even without a bike under them.

Duluth Trading Post makes some really good stuff...everything is designed for years of use, and lasts forever.

I use the Draggin Jeans over here in Britain, and find them to be very good for riding but a bit clumsy off the bike.
