Where can I find the Screamin Eagle Emblem
« on: October 15, 2008, 08:16:34 PM »

I've searched all the threads for the answer with no luck.  Where do you get the Screamin Eagle Emblem (without the words "Performance Parts") to put on the back of a jacket and vest.

I think we've been down this road and it is a common complaint that it doesn't exist from the MoCo as an emboidered patch without the parts designation with it.

That is true, there are many places that custom design patches. See what they can do. Use the picture in the thread. :nixweiss:

Buy the patch as is, take it to an embroidery shop and explain what you want removed. They will cut off the part you don't like and re-do the embroidery around the edge. Cost you maybe $30.  Cheap ?  No, but getting things the way you want them is priceless is it not ?

Just curious, why would you want to take off the PERFORMANCE PARTS? IMHO thats what makes the emblem what it is but thats just MHO.

I have a Screamin Eagle leather jacket as do many other site members. It doesn't say performance parts under the logo. Evidently the factory understand the why of this issue

I have a screamin eagle leather jacket as well and under the bird on the front you are correct no performance parts under the eagle but it is denonated on the right sleeve. Thats cool what ever opinions are like a#& H*%#s everybody has one  and in mine I like performance parts under the logo better.

Other than that I have bought several screaming eagle patches for vests and have never seen one that doesn't say performance parts on it.  But WTF I could be wrong maybe they are out there.

They are out there oilcan. I have one I had sewed onto a zip front H-D sweatshirt. I picked the patch up in Honolulu. Might have been a knock off over there, who knows. I like it. I have a grey Screamin Eagle hoodie and it says Performance Parts under the logo. No rhyme or reason I guess. Anyway, I can see your side of it, The SE stuff is about performance, and I can also see wanting to have just the logo.

Where might a guy find a SE patch without the words perf parts?
« Reply #11 on: October 23, 2008, 07:18:16 PM »

I like the Eagle and the bar & shield, but the performance parts part just looks silly to me. Most everyone knows SE is Harley's performance parts division. I would think so anyway.

There are a few companies licensed by HD to provide Screamin Eagle merchandise.  Many of their items, including jackets and patches, do not have "Performance Parts" included in the designs.  One such company is Maingate. Catch is, they are only sold through HD dealerships. Find your self a dealership that carries the line and look through their catalog.  You'll be surprised how much SE merchandise is available.  Most of our local dealerships will special order just about anything out of these catalogs for us.  Check your local dealership and see if they carry Maingate.  Many of them have the merchandise on the floor mixed in with everything else.

Bikerman,

You must have talked to the village idiot LOL. My wife works at a HD dealership and gave me the story. Maingate is the supplier of the SE merchandice, but dealers have to purchace certain quantities of each item (IE no special ordering just one of something)

OK, now can anyone point me at a dealer that stocks this stuff? HoT here in CA doesn't have squat for patches / decals etc. and I'd gladly pay shipping etc. I hate to think I have to take the vector art to an embroidery shop and make my own.

geez, ya think they'd throw one in along the gold key and fancy cover for what we pay for the scoots themselves,,,

Yes it is, but don't order it without seeing it.
If I am not mistaken, the whole section between the orange piping zips out to be a ventilated jacket.

There is a similar jacket with the bar & shield across the back that is not a zip out that I would like to get, but the moco SE patch is not quite big enough to cover the jacket embroidery.

yes its current stock,  part number 98281_07VM i just bought mine b4 xmas at a stealer sale. I dont like the cuffs close up with velcro, i would have prefered a sleeve zipper

Yes, the whole section between the orange piping zips out to be a ventilated jacket.

Jacket also comes with a inner water proof liner which can zip out and fold up into a bag that is attached inside on the back

I bought a similar H-D jacket a couple of years ago - same basic design.  Had a basic mesh jacket with vinyl panels that zipped on and off of the body and arms.  I think it was called transformer or transition, or something like that.  Anyway, it had the same rain liner in the pouch, attached by velcro to the inside back.  Very odd.  I figured it was only there for storage while in the closet, and not while wearing it.  I also thought it was strange to have the waterproof liner on the inside of the jacket.  The outer materials are not water resistant by any stretch and gets saturated very quickly, so I improvised.  I carry the pouch & liner in the saddlebag with the rest of my rain gear, and wear it on the outside of the jacket if necessary.  Works pretty good.  Also, have used it many times on the inside as a wind breaker on colder mornings, and it makes a huge difference.

Yes i have also used it a windbreaker, and i agree it makes a huge difference.
What i dont like are the velco cuffs, i would prefer a zip and might have it adapted.

I don't like the velcro cuffs either. I didn't realize I liked the zipper cuffs much better until I got this jacket. Too bad I can't sew. :(
