After 40k of riding it is time to replace my leather chaps. Not looking to spend a ton of money, just want something durable. Has anyone bought a pair recently online? Can you post a link or give a site address?

They are easy to deal with if you have to trade sizes or if they come with fringes

I belive if you mention CVO Harley you get 10% off, at least they use to. Can not hurt to ask, it's either yes or no.

Just remember the length doesn't matter as they are almost always trimmed. It's the thighs - not too loose, not to tight

I have the HD Chips, the one's that has Harley-Davidson down the sides. Great fit and feel good on. Call Jenni.

The quality of Fox Creek Leather chaps is excellent but they'll cost you about $300. They make most of what they sell in-house and if made there, it's guaranteed for life.

Another option...
While we were in Cherokee, NC this year, we stopped in at the Sequoyah Craft Shop along the main drag. My wife was fitted up with a real nice pair of "Leather King" braided chaps. They're made from naked Buffalo leather (real soft) with two braided pockets next to the belt line (like regular pants). I wouldn't be telling you about these if I wasn't impressed with their quality. Here's their website: http://www.sequoyahcraftshop.com/ The Cherokee gal that took care of her was real nice and gave us 20% off without a store sale going on. If you know your size, you're all set.

I attempted to purchase a leather jacket from Leather Up, after 3 attempts and more than a few shillings in return mail, I just kept the latest one and am cutting off the too short sleeves and making it a vest. I was not overly thrilled with the leather quality, since I am accustomed to Fox Creek Leather products. Just my opinion, not trying to rain on anyone's parade.

Own a jacket and pair of chaps from California Leather Creations. Purchased them at bike week '08 at Trevino's Leathers. They are a very high quality product!

If your ever in San Jose Ca go to Just Leather. They will adjust off the rack or make Custom to your size, I have chaps, vest and Jacket and all are great. It's a good run family operation that's been around for geez I'd image 30 plus years, I'm mid 50 noew and I can remember going by the shop as a kid.

Fox Creek Leather is about the best I've ever seen. I have their chaps, gloves, and a jacket. Lasts forever and is soft like butter...made in USA, and the people are extremely helpful, with great customer service.

Johnson leathers in downtown San Francisco, they will fit them to you and put in proper spaced snaps for no extra money. And, IMO, they have superior quality. Have had mine for at least 8 years and still going strong
