I have the "Original" midweight jacket.  The new one is probably nicer, but I've had if for years, and it is prefect.  What's everyone's take on the PERFORATED version that they have?  will it be much cooler for the summer? Do you give up the waterproof capability?

I don't have experience with the perforated jacket, but I can't imagine a jacket with thousands of little holes could be waterproof.

It's like most things you pretty much get what you pay for and even @ $ 660.00 it is a great jacket, for long trips I will always take it, cool with liner out and warm with liner in .......however after riding one for 120,000 miles, I just went to another for short summer riding, all the protection that is offered by the RXRG comes with another price other than $$$$$$  it is VERY HEAVY (that's why it protects so well) .

My FXRG jacket, pants and boots are my items of choice.

Jacket had a list of $460 when I got mine. 20% off and a $50 coupon for buying a new bike.

Pants were from eBay, new, $125

Boots were "version 2" and on the discount rack for $90.

Yes, the perforated has a waterproof liner.  It is reasonably cool on a hot day.

I bought the Mid Weight last summer and love it so far. I live in Michigan and it seems to do the trick.  I have an ultra and don't really know about the ventilation. If it is hot it is off and if it is cool it is on.
