Anyone try this lid. Was thinking of adding a J&M headset to it also. Reviews say it was made for the touring guy and has more room in the mouth area for microphone. http://www.shoei-helmets.com/Helmet.aspx?QWEST&h=20&t=1

Tried one on today and the fit was great.I also wear glasses and was no problem getting them on.  Looks like plenty of room for the speakers and microphone that J&M sells. I will post pics when I get both and put them together.

Just watched this video. Looks good but he doesn't show the speakers pockets. Does tout it is as being touring friendly and "tested" up to low triple digits.

Try Helmet Shop in Daytona, best price on Shoei anywhere, have to call for best price due to advertising rules from the manuf. They have the J&M stuff as well and will install it, install is free during Bikeweek, I assume it is all the time if bought from them but don't know for sure.

Chaparral was $266.95 for the helmet, Gear Up Motorsports was 169.99 for the headset.

Just got back from a great ride and had a chance to try out the Qwest helmet with J&M elite headset. This helmet is amazing. Very quiet and the J&M headset works much better than the HD headset. One of the guys wanted to ride my bike and tryed the helmet. He has A Shoei 1000 and after a 75 mile ride the first thing he stated was how quiet the helmet was. As far as installing the headset you will need to cut out the area for the speakers and mic to make them fit. Well worth it. I will post some pics of the helmet later. I would recommend this set up to anyone.

Looking forward to the pictures, thanks for the review.

How is it for ventilation??

Did you ride any with the shield open at speed?  How much noise then?

My wife and I went on the West Coast Thunder 2011 ride today. She doesn't ride much but I did gave her the opprotunity to try both helmets. (HD modular and Shoei Qwest) The day was beautiful and the wind was still during the ride. The Shoei was up first. She did states it was quiet and very comfortable. A little more effort to get her glasses on than the modular but do-able. On the way home it was the modulars turn. Heavier was the first thing she noticed and then more noise. After getting home she said she felt like she had been at a rock concert. Looks like I maybe in the market for another helmet.
