trick question?

I think we need some details. What exactly is "worn", how did you determine it was "worn", etc. If you're talking about excessive runout, yes it's a problem caused by H-D design and manufacturing quality (or lack thereof).

how would you know that your bike had this condition?

Some of the things to look for are a consistent vibration around 2200- 2600 rpm. Mirrors that never stop shaking. Excess oil consumption, smoke from exhaust, motor running hotter than usual. Unusual ticking noises that didn't exist before.
The only real way to check for crank runout is to remove the cam cover and use a dial indicator. Despite Harleys claim that up to .012 is normal, the oil pump will fail long before thatIMO. Runout should NOT be more than .001 ideal, but .003 seems to not cause severe issues.
The only fix is to have the crank retrued and welded by a competent builder. That involves a complete teardown. Several qualified people like Revolution Performance can do the work. Its also the ideal time to install the Timken double tapered bearings which help stabilze the crank. FWIW twinotter
