Title: 2010 Street Glide fuel tank draining?

 have been trying to siphon my tank to reduce the weight so I can remove it. I tried to siphon it but only a bit came out. Once it stopped, I wasn't able to get it going again. Almost like I couldn't find the remaining gas that I know is there.

Any tips on draining/siphoning  the tank greatly appreciated.

I was thinking about getting a fitting/va ee to go into the petcok. I don't now what type of fitting is used to connect from petcok to the fuel rail (at the tank).

Any suggestions to help me get it done appreciated.

I bought a bulb type syphoning line from Harbor Freight...it worked great and was super-cheap.  I was able to push the line deep down into my tank and pulled most of the fuel out.  You do have to cover the end of the line you are inserting into your container to get it primed.

Go on eBay and find a used fuel line someone has removed.  Cut the line off the coupler fitting and stick a long piece of 3/8" (FI) fuel line on the fitting.  Long enough it'll easily reach a gas gas.  One end in the can and plug the other in to the coupler on the bottom of the tank.  Either let it slowly drain or use the pump to pump the tank dry (just watch it so you don't run the pump dry longer than very briefly).
