Pittbull Lifts in Limbo!
« on: December 12, 2015, 01:59:40 PM »

Been trying real hard to get a Pittbull lift, called several times yesterday and sent some emails to them and got nothing
Each time I called it just went to a mailbox that was full!

But Tony and Nikki reponsed to my request just now

They are in transition with a New Owner and will not be taking any orders until it's settled!
I actually said "Crap" today and went and bought a cheaper version
And man someone was telling me "NO"
Put the thing together and rolled it under the bike and the pump blew a seal!
Damn I was lucky that it did it before I got the bike in the air,
To do the wheels!

Been spending 3 days detailing the bike
So I just Rolled, Rolled again and rolled some more
Half a box later of Band aids I got the bike done!

Come on Nikki, I need a Pit Bull!!  :-X

I would just go buy a Craftsman and be done with it ... mine never let me down and it's only 100 bucks. I'm on my 2nd one now only because when I traded my RGU for the Duc a couple years ago I sold it to a buddy for $50 since I couldn't use it on the Duc. He's still using it to this day to lift his trike ... ten yrs old and still going strong. How's that for a "cheap" jack? I had to buy another one when I got this bike last summer. I use it every time I get my bike out since I park it sideways in front of my garage to get my car in/out. I never strapped it down ever and it's stable enough. To each their own, but I'm not wasting hundreds on a jack that you can supposedly dance a jig on ... like you need to do that anyway. Get the (red & black) steel jack, not the (silver & yellow) aluminum jack. I don't get why everyone thinks you need to blow hundreds for a jack when it only takes one Franklin ... then you can put those other Franklins towards goodies for the bike.

You may want to take a look at this video before you choose a lift.  Putbull is reviewed here.

If all you want to do is clean your wheels try one of these, I use mine every time I clean the bike.

Of coursed if your going to be performing your own maintenance then I would recommend getting a jack. I had one until the moving company "misplaced" it during our big move to Tennessee this past fall. If I had more room in the garage I would get a table lift instead of replacing the jack.

Don't laugh... Harbor Freight tools, cost something like $30.00 and works great for cleaning the wheels. Only drawback is I have to move it from one wheel to the other, which of course means having to re-position the bike, but I find that easier than getting out the bike jack every time I wash the bike.

Copy that - I really like my J&S Jack, top-notch in every respect... I have another jack a friend of mine gave me I use for my FXR. Wouldn't be comfortable lifting my CVO with it though. I have complete confidence in my J&S.

I too phoned recently for a locking screw which holds lift from rolling around. No answer but ...Three emails back and forth but she located the box with them and said its being mailed. Said company was sold and moving.

I bought that one and took it back and bought my second Craftsman. It was very unstable and was very hard to jack up like my bike was to heavy for it.
