Gas price and station Locator.
« on: April 20, 2006, 01:12:15 PM »

I thought this link would help everyone find the relatively cheapest gas prices in their area. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
Stations around here are running out of gas and the last time I got premium for my Haze it was $3.19 a gallon when it's normally about $2.50

Check it for yourself : http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx?zip=&src=Netx
Once on it just put in your zip code. ;D

Unfortunately no end soon, we all know this is a spring phenomenon even in good times, just before the driving season the prices rise.

I did switch my main commuter to a VW diesel Jetta, 42 mpg.  Beats the hell out of the SRT10 at 14.5mpg.

Yeah, but is it as much fun to drive???  Guess I'll have to mod mine to get those numbers. ;D  I get a super-consistent 11.5 mpg tank after tank after tank.

I have a bone stock 2002 4Runner and 90% of my commute is highway.I get around 16 or so MPG. I could trade it in for a hybrid [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

BD,

Don't do it.  The hy part of the name comes from the word hype.  #1 - the claimed mileage on various hybrid vehicles has been shown to be even more inflated than most EPA estimates.  #2 - the actual cost savings in fuel wouldn't make up the difference in purchase price for a typical driver.  #3 - hybrid sales are already slowing down as people become aware of #1 and #2.

Brian,

That's been the history all the way back to the original shortages in the '70's.  People who had nice expensive full size cars were trading them for compacts (Nova, Pinto, various Japanese, etc.), getting 50 cents on the dollar for their trade and paying $1k over MSRP for the compact.  DUH!
