1/2 in the wallet, 1/2 in the money belt
I always use a credit card to buy gas, never have to leave bike the at the pump to pay, waiting for the 9 customers ahead of me trying to buy smokes and lottery tickets...
When I go to the US and use a credit card at the pump, it asks for a zip code...so, I gotta go in and be # 10 in line. I'm not sure if it's the same when you guys come up.

This thread seems about as odd to me as the thread about do you carry.....people come on here and post what you don't want others knowing. :nixweiss:

One things for sure.....I don't have any $$$$ so for those of you thinkin about settin up one of these guys.....I don't have any.....you'll have to move on to one of these guys that have enough to tell you where they hide it. :huepfenlol2:
you can bet whatever is posted here, the guys that commit these kind of crimes already know plus a whole lot more than we ever will.

Can't you just put in a dummy zip code?

Nope, the zip code is actually matched up to the credit card owner's address of record as a form of security, believe it or not.  I once fat fingered the zip code and got one digit wrong, and the pump wouldn't accept it.

I guess it depends on the part of the country you're in and how far along the stations are in updating their equipment, but most of the stations I use don't require zip code entry yet.

dayne just use the 3 number from your postal code & 2 zeros at the end  ###00 works 90 % of the time. as for using postal codes in Canada, never had to do that.

That happened to me once, too.  Took about a month for the pumps at that station to recognize that card again. :nixweiss:

Thanks, Weasels, I'll give that a try next time I'm down.

As a side note, after watching Californication, I prefer to call the machines ABMs, as ATM has a whole new meaning now.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I too, keep my cash on my body, just not in one place. I had heard of putting some in baggies and taping under the seat or inside a side cover. One person puts it inside the fairing, but I wouldn't want to take it off on the road.
