Wow, that love affair didn't last long.  That Ducati Multistrada would make a great 2nd bike but not if I had to part with my CVO Streetglide.

I will eventually fix my sig. ;D Yes, that love affair was short lived. Fun bike, but after some time I knew it just wasn't me. Since I can only have one, it's going to be a Harley and this one is by the far the best one I've ridden to date. I'm not even screwing with the exhaust on this, I love it just the way it is ... sounds great .

This bike truly rides like a dream, it's comfortable and I have c/c and tunes again! They really did make some changes for the better on these new ones. I played with the vent in the fairing coming home from Erie and you can tell a difference. The bike also feels better powerwise than my old RGU which had full exhaust. I know I've said it before, but this one is gonna be a keeper ... I hope cause I'm married to it for the next 7 yrs. since I'm a poor guy.

Here's a shot after a good night of wiping and a fresh coat of wax. I had been watching vids of the Daytona Blue Ultras for quite some time and knew I had to have one. I loved it so much I bought it site unseen and I never bothered taking it for a spin before I signed. This blue is just that beautiful to me.

:2vrolijk_21: Nice! How do you like the new headlights? Man are they awesome, best lights I've personally used so far. Other than mine being adjusted too low and the aux. lights turning off with the high beams I love them (I know it's state law). I turned my headlight only up a couple turns but haven't had the chance to try it yet.

Not sure if this will work, but a cool review about them by David Cohen.

I can agree with everything he said about these new ones cause I love mine. Watching this vid in surround on my stereo is what made me want it so bad.

The new latches on the tour pack and saddlebags are SWEET! What's really cool is at night (with ign. or acc. on) the way the lids open now the light strips on the tour pack light the insides of the bags. For the tour pack I have to just stick another trusty tap light inside the lid ... worked great on my last two bikes.

It's vary easy to change the passing lamp to stay on as long as the switch is on. I do it for most of my customers.  Any dealer with digital tech can do this.  Takes all of 10 minutes.

Thanks guys, man I fkn LOVE this thing. I ended up being out most of the night and now I'm already halfway to my 1000 mile service ... I hate to park it. The headlight is about perfect after bottoming out the vertical adjuster ... the factory sets these way too low to see at night. All I have to do now is dremel out a deep socket to adjust the aux lights up a hair.

I'm liking this more than the old RG. So far I'm getting about 41 mpg, but I hope that will get a little better in time. I'm trying not to baby it too much to break it in right ... I never did believe in pussyfooting a new engine. Brakes are great ... I use them much less than I did on the Duc, this engine really holds the bike back nice. It will never handle like the Duc, but I ain't bitchin and for a 900 some lb. bike it's great.

I think a taller windshield will be in the works soon since the edge is in my line of sight. An inch or two taller will fix that since I don't want to go lower with it. The heated grips work awesome too, I had to try them. I do miss having a cd player ... I'll have to get an ipod or something eventually.

The new retractable tether for the tour pack lid is nice ... not sure how much I can trust it though. This lid feels a lot heavier with the luggage rack and it seems to open further than it has to. Can I adjust that or shorten the travel of the cord a little? All in all I can see many miles of smiles on this, nice to be in love again.

I recommend one of these Ultra Braces for the tour pak.  That tether is way too flimsy, especially if you have any luggage on the rack. The Ultra Brace doesn't open as far as the tether and it can lock in the open position which his handy too, much more rigid than the tether.

Times 2, hated that retractable tether, all I could see was having to buy a new lid. Love the ultra brace, I trust it even with the luggage rack loaded.  :apple:

That's a real pretty color on your new bike!  It was hard following that guy speaking in the video, after listening to "southern" for so many years it's hard to follow someone speaking english the correct way.   :o

If your perception of correct English has been tainted by people speaking "southern" then maybe you should move to wherever people speak a language you can follow. I suspect that probably would be a win/win for you and the state of Georgia.

Thanks & I'm lovin' it! I hardly noticed that twang in his voice ... I was too busy wiping the drool off my face after seeing it and listening to an exhaust note that never sounded so good straight out of the factory.

Not at all and I believe you. I've been admiring Chip's blue collection every time I see his sig. Any man with that many blue bikes has fine taste in my book! I've always been a sucker for blue, but this Daytona Blue is ten times better than the Cool Blue on my old RG. HD hit a homer with this color and the cool thing is I haven't noticed too many of them around my way.

The longer you keep one the less of them you see. One reason I still have my BLUE 07. Of course the real reason is I sank to much $$ in it to take the loss trading.

Congrats on the first season of trouble free miles. I hope it continues for as long as you own her. I bought my harley the same way two years ago. I put money down, ordered the model and color I wanted without riding it or seeing it live or in person or whatever...you know what I mean. Good luck and enjoy...Stay Safe!

Thanks guys, I knew someone would break my balls about the exhaust. ;D Best b-day gift the wife ever got me. I'm glad I did it, between that and the tuner they really woke it up plus the sound is awesome.

That Duc was my second brainfart, the first one was for a GL1800 back in '07 ... live and learn, here to stay this time. The inner fairing would be sweet color-matched, but I think I'll live with the gloss black for a while. My wish list is first to get the metal brace for the tour pak instead of that pos retractable tether, highway pegs, maybe a heated element for the seat to go with the grips ... just for starters.
