Been thru the fiasco with the 407s cupping... Put a new one on in TN,  and when I got home (500 miles)  it was already cupping!

My dealer said he was told by HD Tech Service there would be a new procedure for warranty on the 407 coming VERY soon...  They already replaced my 407 w/ a 408,  but I want my $$$ back for the 407 in TN

The "new procedure for warranty" could mean anything.  My guess is that the moto co and Dunlop will switch the 407 for the 408's or some other series.  Geez, I'm afraid to take my San Antonio to Vegas trip in April

MKW,  keep in mind that this cupping problem only  seems to effect some 407's.  I've got 7,400 miles on my front tire and it still looks and rides like brand new.

Mine was fine at 7500 miles, at 10,000 it is badly cupped, my dealer is either playing dumb, playing me, or maybe they are just dumb. Either way it looks like a call will have to be made to the Motor Company.

If there is any documentaion to share on this "new proceudre" it would be appreciated.

Have your dealer call Tech Services...  All the dealers were told the bulletin is coming soon,  they just dont know the details yet

I had a factory rep look at my rear tire last week for cupping, vibration, and noise. His conclusion was that there was NOTHING wrong with the tire. They replaced my front tire, that was wearing exactly like the back, at 11000 miles and that cut my vibration and noise in half.  I have 11600 miles on the rear tire with 5/32 of tread left. I've called MOCO customer service and Dunlop customer service, neither were any help on the rear tire.

Reimbursement for Prior Tire Replacement-U.S. Market Only
A customer that has already paid for a replacement of one of the four tires listed in Table 1. may qualify for a dealer credit. To qualify for the credit, a repair order (R.O.) from an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer that includes the criteria described on the attached reimbursement form must be submitted. If the customer had the tire replaced at an authorized Harley-Davidson dealership that is different than the dealer submitting the reimbursement form, the customer is responsible for providing a copy of the customer paid repair order from the servicing dealer. Complete the included Customer Reimbursement request form and fax with a copy of the R.O. to (414) 343-8358. (U.S. Market Only)

Just like the MOCO, clear as a bell HUH?
Read all of it, it does address US made bikes saying that US bikes will get a letter. (and that letter is included)
What I saw that applies to me is a reimbursement opportunity.

Just like the code books I have to deal with on a daily basis.... they taught us always always read the entire thing and look for "exceptions".
