In the 80s and sunny. Headed out this morning down to Mena, AR and rode the Talimena Trail along the top of the Ouachita then wandered on to Tulsa for lunch at the diner that's part of Route 66 Harley. Inspried by the restaurant choice took the old road back north through OK and in to KS until finally had to turn east and home. About a four tank day. All exceptional.
Washed up a bit now. Time to ride to dinner.

A fine ride over the weekend for me off to Houston/Galveston area arrived late Thursday night slept got up on Friday went fishing got back to shore bike would not start got an old boy in his pickup truck to pull me it started called some HD shops looking for a starter none to be found finally found one at a hole in the wall shop (used one) but shop owner said it will work. Rode to hotel spent half the nite putting it on and getting it back together it started the bike slept got up ate some water stuff rode home in the rain.

That works for me. Have measured my days by tanks full for long time. It's a comforting measure and keeps me from wimping out end of a day and leaving fuel in the tank before stopping.

Breakdowns suck. Can't always find a good slope when you need it.

For the rest of the story was a friend of mine that traveled with us he hauled his down (health reasons) that I have known for years so was a very controlled event. Necessity is the the driver behind a lot of things we do. Did you ever try to push one of those big ole harley dressers uphill both ways even with 2 - 3 fat boys is pretty tough. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I remember on a Nor Cal ride I looked over at Trucker Mike and he said " Hey we have gone 150 miles time to eat again" :huepfenlol2: By the way haven't seen him in awhile, hope he is doing ok.
