Title: 103" W/ very loud pipes
Post by: 103_RK on July 31, 2006, 08:02:44 AM
I have a 2003 SE Road King.  I had Rineharts and wanted louder pipes.  I bought Vance & Hines Big Shot Duals and Thunder Monster baffles.  I had no idea the bike could be this loud.  Now if I can just keep from getting tickets for disturbing the peace, I love the loud sound.  SUV's now hear me.  When some Jack#@$ riding along on his/her cell phone gets beside me, they move away from me to hear better.

Twolanerider, I understand everyone doesn't share my desire to have a loud bike.  I see choppers at all of the MC events that I go to that have almost no exhaust.  They are considerably louder than any bike with a normal exhaust.  If I get tickets, I will reinstall the baffles that came with it to quiet it down.  I really believe that loud bike save lives.  But I geuss we all have opinions.  I'm not asking you to agree with me.

That's ok 103; really.  I understand that some guys just love them that way.  And if your jurisdiction allows it and your ears can stand it than go with what you love.  The downside, of course, is that the more people any one of us pisses off with really loud pipes is that many more people all of have to contend with because of it.

Huh????  What???? I can't hear you!!!!  ::)

It's been said that if it's too loud, you're too old....... well, that is until you get tinnitus and have a constant ringing in your ears for the rest of your life. I have it and believe me it's no fun and there's no cure for it. See http://www.ata.org/about_tinnitus/

But it's your hearing and your style, so enjoy! ;)
