highway pegs for 2013 RK CVO
« on: June 10, 2015, 11:57:55 AM »

As of today, I've owned my 2013 Road King CVO for two weeks. I have put nearly 4000 miles on it, including 1100 miles in the first 30 hours and another nearly 1100 miles last Friday alone (Saddlesore 1000-Iron Butt Association). I've discovered that the bike is dimensionally a bit small for my 6'2", 230 lb carcass so I added an Ultimate Seat Co. Tall Boy with backrest and got substantial relief. However, I am still cramped for leg room so I'd like to add highway pegs to the crash bars.

Two questions:
1. Will highway pegs work with the "lowers" on the CVO Road King?
2. Can I get matching (Slipstream) highway pegs? (No luck so far...)

Thanks in advance for sharing the benefit of your experience and wisdom,

Just get you a pair of Slipstream passenger pegs and mount them on a set of short angled highway peg mounts. Mine are mounted on the long angled mounts, but I am only 5' 10".

impresive on the miles longed you must live in better climate ?
unlike myself down here in south east Texas

the front pegs on mine don't offer allot of relieve for my long legs at 6'3" but they do help,
I thought they came factory on the bike but I'm the second owner

would like to see a pic of the seat with back rest swap you did

I guess I've been too busy riding to snap a picture with the Ultimate Tall Boy w/ Rider backrest. I'll take one when this rain quits...
Here's a link to the Ultimate Tall Boy I bought: http://ultimateseats.ca/harley-davidson-accessories/road-king-seats/road-king-2-piece-seat-sets-2008-newer/2R-1533  I had an Ultimate Big Boy on my VTX for over 50,000 miles and it made a huge difference.

One interesting discovery though is the difference in comfort/pressure points I've noticed since having my lower spine fused this past December. I'm actually less comfortable in the saddle after the surgery due to the fused vertebrae. In all other respects the surgery was a huge win so I'm not complaining. Besides, discomfort aside, I'm still able to ride like a madman!

I bought the SERK in San Antonio and rode it home to WY. Before I got out of TX I was stranded under a viaduct for two and a half hours waiting out a severe t-storm, two inch hail and four tornadoes...when it let up I drove past an old guy building a huge wooden barge on the side of the road :-)  You guys in TX sure have been getting belted this summer!!!

I also have the Slipstream that came as my passenger pegs.  I replace all my floorboards, passenger pegs, brake, shift pegs with Kuryaken Kenetics.  I use mini floor boards as my highway pegs. works like a charm

My local Harley store had the split stream rider/highway pegs. Works with the lowers just fine. I'm a smaller guy (5'8") and still would like to get another seat, though. But to answer your question (which may have already been answered) the split stream kit (that includes the mounts) will fit your lowers.

Yes, the tank emblem is an eagle wing and says "110" on it. I confess I like it quite a bit  ;D

So, a guy in our Monday Night Ride group gave me a set of after-market peg mounts (simple straight clamp) and we moved the passenger pegs there. Perfect! Dropped my knees down about four inches from the floorboard position and gave great relief by easing the angle of hips. The only other mod I'm considering at the moment is a set of semi-apes...
