70 mph and speakers
« on: February 25, 2008, 11:53:39 AM »

For those who have added a fairing (or have a Street Glide) - can you hear your speakers at 70 mph? I can, but only cranked way up. I was thinking one answer would be to have a plug installed in the fairing that allowed ear buds.

Have any of you come up with a different solution?

Thanks.

I added an aux amp, it helped a little but only til 90 ish at 70 you can hear it ok.
My only beef with the DCF was the anemic stereo.  I think Rooster 452 is going another direction, we'll find out when he gets his S/T.

I have a real issue with wind noise except when not wearing a helmet at all.  I got a small set of speakers that attach to the inside of my old 3/4 helmet and a small MP3 player that also fits in the helmet.  It's illegal to have helmet speakers in Mass. (but you can have 40000 watt amplifier in the car.
No one knows I have the tunes, no wires and no wind noise just a dorky look.

With a Hawg-Wired system, you wont have to raise the volume past 4 bars even at 90 mph.

try upgrading to J&M speakers before you spend a bunch of money.  added them to the front and rear of my ultra, sound great at 85 and at half volume.   Just a thought.

And power, the PSC is 150 watts (75x2) and the DCS is 120 watts (60x2).

The PSC requires a power cable to be ran to the battery, whereas the DCS is a complete plug and play unit. There are no connections at all to be made.
