Just joined this forum.  Traded in my Streetgide for a 2013 CVO Roadglide.  Any ideas for a drivers backrest with stock seat.  I like this seat but need a backrest.  I've seen a mustang seat covered in the stock diamond pattern and it looked good.  Just not ready to give this seat up yet.  Kuryakyn sells a crazy rider backrest but it's just goofy looking.  Just looking to see if anyone has come up with anything.  Great forum.

Welcome to the forum...you might want to go over to the new members tread and introduce yourself.   In response to your question though, one member took his stock 2012 SESG seat and had a back rest installed.  You can find the discussion here:  Stock SESG Seat w/Backrest .   I went with the Mustang Wide Tripper w/backrest for my SESG3 and really like it a lot more over the stock seat.

Yep, that is what I did with my seat on my 13 CVO King.  I have done back to back 500 miles days on that seat with the gell and backrest.  I find it is not quite as good as my corbin on my road glide, but it was less than half the cost.  And the corbin is not twice as good.

There is also a thread some where in this road glide section of some one who has done it on a road glide with pictures, this is a picture of the Skunk with it done

I wonder if this just bolts onto the stock studs or if the stock seat needed to be modified? I am interested but still like the solo seat.

That stock seat has to be modified.  There's a really clever guy in New Mexico that can do it.  His name is Seth.  You can find the company in that thread up above.  Stuart.     The company is  Auto Original.

I would be interested to see a few pics to see the modifications. I run mostly run solo and would only run the backrest with the passenger seat.

I run my CVO Road King 90% of the time with just the driver seat.  I have that seat modification on my CVO King.  The back rest is set up lots like a corbin.  It can be removed and there is a flap to cover the hole.  The height can be adjusted and the fore and aft can be adjusted.  My back rest is always on though, love the comfort.
