Modifying 2008 FXDSE2 For 5'2" Woman

(1/5) > >>

Bull_Duck:
Bought my wife a mint condition 2008 FXDSE2 105th Anniversary. 1,700 total miles. The new Dyna replaces her 1998 Dyna.

Wife is 5'2" so some changes in the ergonomics are required before she can ride. I'll keep this thread updated.

Her 1998 Dyna with the Evolution motor started life as a FXD-Conv. Bought the bike new. Over time, true to its name "Convertible" it transformed to her "Road Queen" - floor boards, hard bags, lowered, keeping its big wind shield. Only 27,000 total miles and many other dealer installed upgrades. I'll be selling the 1998 either as now equipped, or part it out. If interested, send PM.

Image attached of my wife's 1998 DYNA-CONVerted to "Road Queen" Perfect for the petite person who wants the power and control over a big v-twin Harley. More at http://www.roadglide.org/album.php?albumid=1289&pictureid=7173

Her Road Queen preceded the Switchback. Her bike has fitted genuine unobtanium Harley-Davidson Dyna Floorboards, heal toe shifter, HD hard bags, and other items. I recall the floorboards MSRP were in the range of $700 and the handbags $1,400. The Evolution engine  has a growing popularity because home and independent mechanics can work on them without expensive electronic gear.

Bull_Duck:
Some of the parts might be moved over to her 2008 Dyna FXDSE2. I am considering having the hard bags painted 105th Anniversary rootbeer, and the black bits of the floorboards chromed and then installed on the CVO.

The '98 Dyna Corbin Close won't fit on the '08 Dyna. I still have the original '98 seat so can either leave on or sell. I need to purchase a Dyna Corbin Close with back rest for the '08.

Bull_Duck:
I want to buy her a HD quick release touring windshield, with the clamps.
Will it fit?
Where to buy?

Bull_Duck:
Did my first 75 mile ride this morning on my wife's 2008' FXDS2 with 110 ci engine.

Awesome engine. Tons of torque.
Brakes felt a bit soft.

Handled well through the twisties.

Now I "need" one as my own.
