Here's a little bit of news from my hometown. They say "television production crew," but from what I understand it was Junior, Senior and yeah, you guessed it . . . Mikey!
-
Well, it seems they didn't want to meet with me today to discuss concepts and designs for the new bike [smiley=lolk.gif], so I'm just hoping there's some grand unveiling of the finished product somewhere down the road that I can attend.

Here's a photo of the finished product. At first glance, the total absence of chrome is a shock, but when you consider there isn't any chrome on a Cat vehicle either, it starts to make sense. Here's the story that was published along with the photo:
Cat Chopper Unveiled In Clayton, Tour Roars To A Start April 11
Caterpillar and Orange County Choppers, Inc. (OCC) unveiled a custom chopper to more than 1,500 employees at the BCP facility in Clayton, N.C. today. Click here to see a larger picture of the Cat Chopper.

Finally an episode where Vinny and Paul jr will look right a t home beating it together with a hammer.
I have to thank you 103 for the info. My involvement with Cat engines is not as up to date as my last job but I still have quite a few contacts that keep me in the know of the latest news. I have to tell you, you got the earliest info on the OCC/Cat bike, when one of my buddies told me about the news of the bike and dates I told him I remember reading about this news 3 weeks ago. He didn

reo, the information in my January 7 post came off of a public news site, so anyone would've had access to it. The photo and story from yesterday I got off an internal bulletin board, but they ran the story on the local news last night, also (without photos). I'm sure you'll start to see the photo pop up somewhere if you have any dealings with Cat. I was a little surprised to see it released this far in advance of the TV show, but I guess the official unveiling has already occurred, so why not?

I guess what I'm trying to say is it was surprising to my buddy that I had the info before the news cam from the internal Cat news release. I assumed your info came from a local news source, I see your in Peoria, not surprising Cat stuff is big news down there. But it sure surprised him and I wont tell him my sources. lol

Have fun with it, reo, and be sure to let me know if you beat him to the punch again this time! [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I pretty much stopped watching the show a year or more ago when it seemed the only thing the TV show was interested in capturing was Sr. being a dick and Jr. pushing his buttons. Did see one episode a couple of weeks ago, however, where they were completing a bike done for Lincoln and themed on a new Lincoln truck.
Obviously couldn't see it "up close" while on TV but it's styling touches and general theme were right on for the vehicle they were modeling from. And even though Sr. and JR. can be incredibly whiney I'll be the first to admit that it was a beautiful machine (at least on TV).
