Wow what a great way to torture a dealer. Here you can hold and smell my money for a while but if your not on the ball I'll come back and get it and give to the competitor. :orange: It would sting even more if you just had them send the money directly to the other dealer. :huepfenlol2:

Really, it's just a matter of who gets their bike in first, all other things being equal...like price, and how the dealer treats you.  I waited an extra month to get my '06, mostly because they gave me a good deal, were nice to me, and did everything above board.  I drove 250 miles from B'ham to do business with this dealer...twice...once to sign papers when the bike came in and was still in the crate, and then again a week later to pick it up.

Most dealers understand about these deposit things and there's no hard feelings, because they're going to sell the bike regardless when it get there.

I always do this to save a spot in line.  If you don't you might miss out on the bike you want in the color you want

Yeah, if you don't get your name on the "list", somebody could just walk in and say I'll take that one.

Did I miss the answer or have we got sidetracked.  When is the dealer summer show.  What are the rumors for this year's cvo lineup?

I would worry the dealer could file for  bankruptcy protection between now and then.

First of all they always make a SE Ultra Classic and 3 colors will be the option. Each year I leave my dealer $1,000 to get my choice of any SE that were to come out. A week after the dealer meeting I like a bike or not they hand me my check back. Problem is for example you like the Black (whatever bike) and that is the 3rd color delivery of that model you can sure wait a while! Example my 09 Silver SE RG was delivered May 18th after they were unveiled at the dealer meeting in late July. Just no way of knowing who will get what when. Thinking back maybe my dealer (who is also a personal friend) got the Silver early and a customer was retiring really wanted it so I kindly stepped aside and let him have it not knowing they were not going to get another one for 9 months!! Also get some sort of deal on paper. A deposit is great and then they want $2,500 over MSRP for their SE and then your deposit means nothing. At least in my opinion. Good luck always cool to see the new bikes. Best of luck :)

When is the 2012 dealer show? I just put down money for a 2012 Ultra if they make it again. Cant wait to see what changes they have made.
Thanks Dan

Two pages of this stuff and no one has mentioned where the dealer show is this year... & I'm too lazy to look elsewhere. Anyone help out here?

Here is some of the story about the new bikes. I haven't had time to go over it yet though.

CVO's will be Ultra, Street Glide, Convertible again, and the RoadGlide is going to be the Custom this time.  All this according to the CARB filing.

Also, the 103 will be standard in all Touring and Softtails.  The 96 will be in the Dyna's.  110 in the CVO's.

Dang, I was hoping the 120SER would of made it into the CVO line, oh well. Maybe a change out of the 110 for a 120SER right out of the box at the dealer for the difference and install in a new CVO RG Custom is in the future. I know my dealer would do it and warranty his install too.
