Can you replace the windscreen w/o replacing the hardware?

2008 SERK w/ the standard tinted low windsheild....  Can you just replace the windsheild w/o buying a all the new hardware...  Different dealers give me different opinions

No options from HD that I know of for the Lexan only replacement. Aftermarket vendors will make a replacement Lexan for that stock 7-hole W/S frame though. Try Cleaview. Talk to John. They give us a discount. Mention your from CVOHarley. I happen to think the standard 5-hole RK frame is a better unit and accomodates W/S bags easier too. I bought the HD Mid-Low W/S assembly from HD and never looked back. I have the Clearview Lexan in that frame now. Hope this helps! ;)

I went with a Clearview also. You will have to get a heat gun/hair dryer to peel the brackets off the stock shield and some 3M two sided tape to reattach the brackets to the new shield. HD also offers that tape only or you could buy all the braces with tape for I think around $90.

Will it fit with the stock brackets?  I want to go with a XL winsheild,  or atleast a non tinted one..

Yes it will just as long as you order the 7 hole windscreen. Clearview has it listed as "Screamin Eagle Windshield" I believe.

SERK3, I've been laying low for a while now. I've been playing with my other hobby which is guns since it has gotten cold outside. I did manage to get the bike out yesterday though. The Mrs. and I went out for a short trip around town since the weather was decent. I'm beginning to spend a little more time around here so hopefully I'll get back into the groove.

We rode yesterday also, I think we passed each other at Merchants Rd and I 75 about 2 or 3 o clock, If it wasn't you then there is another bike just like yours in town. You were headed toward Clinton Hwy.

I got the replacement windshield in the 7 hole variety from

You can order the height and tint you like.  No issues.  Reasonable price and shipping.
