Hi guys,
I collected the bike yesterday, the 50 mile run to the dealer had my hands frozen with the 35 degrees Fahrenheit air temperature, I had to defrost before I could do the paper work.
I asked the dealer to put on the rider back rest and then as I went to set off, I thought how do I get my leg over this, I tried several comic attempts before realising I could bend my leg and put my knee over and swing my leg down, I was sure glad it was a Friday and there was no one else out the front
Driving back was a very different experience, warm hands with the grips set to high and I had the seat set to low to. No wind blast, felt great and my legs were not being blown off the foot boards. The engine feels great, very smooth (keeping the revs down as per run in instructions).
Finding neutral took some getting used to, (feels so different to the ‘six speed’ on the Fatboy). I would stop at a red light and I kept taping between first and second, the lights would go green before I got neutral.
I have been out again today getting used to the gadgets etc, and my left foot appears to have learnt how to find neutral.
Going to wash the glide tomorrow morning and will take and post some pictures after.
Cheer, Kev
Mike, on England, May to September is good, recently we have been getting very rainy July’s. Peak temp is around August. Ireland and Wales normally get more rain that England so make sure you have some wet weather gear. People tell me May is best for Scotland in terms of least amount of rain.
