I have an 8" clearview, light tint with recurve on my 2009 Street Glide. I use the Sundowner seat and I'm 6'2". I can see over the shield or bend down behind it in rain. I also have the same shield in 9 1/2". I use that one for the long road trips. I can still see over it but don't have to bend over as far to get out of the rain.

I am 5'11", an use the Clearview recurve 11.5.

Cruising, I look thru it most of the time. If I sit up straight, I look over it as needed.

Mrs HG has no wind buffetting issues either.

Great size for me (I had the stock, then a 8.5, now the 11.5)

I have a  brand new unused 6" (measures 5 1/2" installed) in solid black I can sell you for $50.00 plus actual shipping.  I am 5'10" and use a 7" shield most of the time and a 8" on long trips----am looking over the shield in both cases, but in the hills around home the 8" makes me occaisionally have to sit up a little straighter.

I just ordered the HD version of the 7" Klock Werks smoked shield for my 2010 CVO SG.  More to follow on fit and function.

Everyone has different needs in a windshield. What i've found is that looking through any windshield is not the way to go. On longer trips where weather is an issue, lets face it....we're on a motorcycle. I'd rather see over the windshield in daytime or night.
Before ordering a shield, I ride my bike on the freeway and see where the top of the stock HD shield hits my vision while looking ahead. Take a marking pen and mark the shield at this point. I usually sit erect and then slump into my normal riding position and look at the difference through the shield and split the difference.
Now...when you get home measure the shield point marked and that is the right one for you. The beauty of this method is that now with Clearview recurves you have the added wind protection of the recurve without affecting your vision.
Hope this helps

What brand, assuming it is a clearview?  Is it still available?  I am going to try the stock one for the summer but would love to buy yours to have a backup ready.  Any chance of a picture of it?  Thanks.

I'm 5'9" and got the 8" and it is perfect for me. The light smoked you can get down behind it, but you don't really need to.

Similar height here but the 8 or 8 1/2 is just a touch short.  I have just a bit of buffeting on the top of my helmet.  I guess we all could use 1" more.....
