Title: flhtcuse6 seat stitching coming apart
Post by: fatboyrb on July 18, 2014, 10:44:23 AM
Hi all, I'm trying to collect evidence of the stitching on the se6 seat coming apart as mine has started to do after only 8500 miles but unfortunately its warranty expired 4 months ago and the dealer reckons I've no chance of a warranty fix, he has taken photo's and will submit a claim. I've seen a few seats from the se6 which have had the same problem and the more evidence I can muster then the more clout I'll have when the claim gets escalated to the moco Any help/info will be greatly appreciated. All the best, Rod.

It started coming apart in my SEUC4 and SEUC5 shortly before my warranty expired. I got both seats replaced under warranty.

No prob yet on my 11.5 at 15,000 miles but I've heard of this issue before. Extended warranty is making out like a bandit since I can't ride like I want to.

Rather than just wait on a dealership employee to maybe call the Harley rep and ask him to make a goodwill adjustment on an out-of-warranty defect, I'd suggest you guys place a call directly to Harley customer service.  I can't begin to count all the times I've heard dealership people claim they were going to contact the "factory" to find out about coverage, or to get help figuring out a problem, and promise they would then get back to the customer, only to never do any of the above.  Some places are very good about going to bat for their customers on this sort of thing, but all too many are not.  Don't assume your dealership is one of the good ones.
