Ole saying is "one bad apple ruins the whole bunch".
I saw 2 large groups of about 100 bikes of 1%ers while there. It could only take a few words between the two to start a big news event. Then the Harley Bike Week would be given the bad rap instead of the other.

I fully agree.  The Harley bike week has been going on many years.  There have been some isolated incidents.  However nothing like the incidents that routinely happen at the B Bike week.

Hotels complain of trashed rooms, food joints and bars complain of no tips, and bill being stiffed.  You usually do not get that from the Harley group.

I know owner of  couple PCB hotels, he says he welcomes the Harley rally but not spring breakers for the same issues that Myrtle has with the latter rally.

Local "Opinion Page" of the M.B. paper now has input from some residents calling for an end to the Bike Rally(s).  the governor has said the Atlantic Beach Bike Rally should end.  (I happen to agree with that thought),  but for some to group all Bike events with what happened and rant about ending it all...............is without merit.

From the latest news reports,  it kinda sounds like drug deals were a key part of at least one of the major incidents where shots were fired and people died.

There appears to be a "following" of younger folks that show up in M. Beach for this particular event and they cannot afford or do not have a crotch rocket or Harley either.......But they show up in their Nissans and other "roller skate" wheeled sedans and bringing along their guns,  they are ready to party.

It's a DAMN SHAME. My son was headed into the area a couple of years ago and there were 80 bikes rolling in ahead of him at 35 mph blocking all lanes and stacking up traffic for miles.

Well, I was thinking of why they wanted to end this rally, but I searched this rally on YouTube and watched a few video's...

I think I understand now...Same reason why the hospitality industry scrams for Essence festival in New Orleans...

Not profiling, but just stating the reality facts... Damn shame...
